iChoosr Co., Ltd. (Head office: 5-2-32 Minami-Azabu, Minato-ku, Tokyo; Representative Director and President: Akira Hirose; hereinafter, "iChoosr") concluded an agreement with Nara Prefecture on Thursday, March 26, 2026, to implement "Minna no Ouchi ni Taiyo-ko" (Solar Power for Everyone's Home), a collective purchasing program for solar panels and storage batteries.

This marks the first time the program will be implemented in Nara Prefecture, with the residential program scheduled to commence in early June 2026. Registration for the business-use collective purchasing program is also scheduled to begin in mid-July.

Background of the Agreement

The Japanese government has set a goal of achieving carbon neutrality by 2050, aiming for virtually zero CO₂ emissions. To achieve this, reducing emissions in the household sector is an urgent issue, and the widespread adoption and installation of solar panels are positioned as one of the important solutions.

Nara Prefecture aims to realize a "decarbonized society" with virtually zero greenhouse gas emissions by 2050 and has formulated the "Nara Prefecture Decarbonization Strategy." Under this strategy, the prefecture has set a target to reduce greenhouse gas emissions by 45.9% by FY2030 compared to FY2013, promoting the establishment of a decarbonized society. *1

Looking at the breakdown of greenhouse gas emissions in Nara Prefecture, the household sector accounts for approximately 30% of emissions, which is higher than the national average of about 20%. Based on these regional characteristics, Nara Prefecture positions the expansion of renewable energy introduction, including household solar power generation, as one of the important measures to achieve its greenhouse gas emission reduction targets.

Against this background, Nara Prefecture and iChoosr have now concluded a partnership agreement to promote "Minna no Ouchi ni Taiyo-ko" through a collective purchasing scheme.

iChoosr will continue to support the promotion of renewable energy and the creation of sustainable, community-rooted societies through this project.

Supporting the Spread of Renewable Energy with the Collective Purchasing Program "Minna no Ouchi ni Taiyo-ko"

What we aim for through the "collective purchasing program" is to provide consumers with the opportunity for "active choice," where they can make decisions with conviction. We emphasize creating an environment where solar panels and storage batteries, which are still unfamiliar, can transition from being "an advanced choice for a few" to "a realistic option for everyone to consider," making them easy and safe to install. Through this project, we will support the further spread of renewable energy by overcoming the "three barriers" that hinder its adoption.

About the "Minna no Ouchi ni Taiyo-ko" Collective Purchasing Program

The collective purchasing program for solar panels and storage batteries is a system that leverages the scale benefits generated by a large number of participants to enable the introduction of renewable energy equipment at fair and transparent prices. A major feature is that it allows consumers to install equipment under fair and highly reliable conditions, while eliminating the hassle of individually searching for contractors, making it different from mere "bulk buying."

Barriers to purchasing behavior such as "cannot choose," "cannot trust," and "do not understand," which arise from an abundance of information and unfamiliarity with products, are also removed through "comprehensive support."

We provide a system that allows consumers to confidently adopt renewable energy through highly reliable sales and installation contractors and products selected through screening and bidding processes based on financial status and construction track record, clear warranties, and fair prices utilizing scale benefits.
