Announcement of the Publication of the 'AI Map β Extended Version Tutorial'

The iCD Association (Chiyoda-ku, Tokyo, President: Osamu Kin, hereinafter 'iCD Association') and the Japanese Society for Artificial Intelligence (Shinjuku-ku, Tokyo, President: Satoshi Kurihara, hereinafter 'JSAI') have formulated and publicly released the 'AI Map β Extended Version Tutorial' as a guide to support the conceptualization required for the introduction and application of AI, which is accelerating in evolution and diversification.

Currently, artificial intelligence technologies, including generative AI, are undergoing astonishing evolution, transcending mere technological boundaries to become a massive wave fundamentally changing society. During this period of transformation, the iCD Association and JSAI aim for AI to be implemented in society and business activities swiftly, correctly, and accurately. To achieve this, it is essential to not only explore technology but also to provide a roadmap for 'which technology should be applied and how' to specific issues in real society and business. This tutorial was formulated to serve as a bridge connecting advanced academic knowledge with practical tasks, making AI implementation more certain.

Meanwhile, to prepare for these situations, our association has been expanding the iCD Task Dictionary/Skill Dictionary and collaborating with SFIA and Digital Skill Standard (DSS-P).

1. Background and Issues
AI is now an indispensable presence in society and business. Due to the rapid speed of its evolution, 'conceptualization'—combining optimal elemental technologies for intended purposes—has become an important and highly difficult task. The 'AI Tasks' formulated by the iCD Association are effective as a 'template' showing a series of tasks and procedures related to projects from conceptualization necessary for AI introduction to PoC preparation and implementation, but the following issues existed:

- Addressing the lack of experience in AI development: For inexperienced or junior personnel in the series of practical processes for AI implementation, 'AI Tasks' alone lacked specific 'examination methods', clarity, and a hands-on feel to advance operations and deal with difficulties.
- Lack of methodology necessary for ideation: Exploring optimal technologies and creating ideas from scratch (ideation) were hard to reach with 'AI Tasks' alone.

To solve these issues, we believed it was necessary to use a combination of JSAI's 'AI Map' and the iCD Association's 'AI Tasks'. To address this, since fiscal 2022, the iCD Association and JSAI have collaborated to compile the 'AI Map β Extended Version Tutorial' as a guidebook detailing how AI personnel can utilize the AI Map published by JSAI when executing the grand design formulation work defined in the 'AI Tasks'.

2. About the AI Map β Extended Version Tutorial
Based on the examination work by both organizations that started in fiscal 2022, the 'AI Map β Extended Version Tutorial' was formulated and released as a guidebook to solve issues faced by practitioners of AI introduction projects using the 'AI Map (Version: AI Map β 2.0)'.
