IBeeT Inc. (IBeeT), led by Representative Director Yoichi Murakami, has jointly established the grid-scale battery consortium "Libra LLC" with Tokyu Land Corporation, Fuyo General Lease Co., Ltd., Nomura Real Estate Co., Ltd., Maeda Corporation, Nittetsu Kowa Real Estate Co., Ltd., Sumitomo Mitsui Trust Bank, Limited, and Sumitomo Mitsui Trust Panasonic Finance Corporation. We are pleased to announce that this consortium will promote six special high-voltage grid-scale battery storage facilities (total project cost approximately 30 billion JPY, output approximately 174 MW, hereinafter referred to as "the Project").
Operation is scheduled to commence sequentially from FY2027, aiming to contribute to the widespread adoption of renewable energy by supplying needed balancing power.
## Market Conditions and Significance of Initiatives
Towards the realization of carbon neutrality by 2050, the widespread adoption of renewable energy (hereinafter referred to as "RE") has become an urgent issue. On the other hand, RE has large output fluctuations due to weather and time of day, and with the expansion of its introduction, the importance of "grid-scale batteries" to supplement these fluctuations is rapidly increasing.
IBeeT has previously promoted not only the provision of equipment sales and leasing services for the grid-scale battery system "Bluestorage" developed by Itochu Corporation, but also investments in special high-voltage battery storage facilities, including the Gotoku battery storage facility, through joint investment with Liene Co., Ltd. (a subsidiary of Tokyu Land Corporation).
Through participation and investment in this Project, we will further accelerate the supply of balancing power sources to the power grid, contributing to the further widespread adoption of RE and the realization of a sustainable society.
