《Overview of Support》
Kobe City boasts many attractive tourist destinations, including Arima Onsen, one of Japan's three famous hot springs and three oldest hot springs, the Kitano Ijinkan-gai where foreign residences line up, and Nankinmachi, one of Western Japan's leading Chinatowns. In this project, with everyone's support, tourism-related organizations will work to improve the appeal of tourism resources, aiming to develop Kobe into an even more desirable tourist destination.
Around Arima Onsen, we will proceed with landscape maintenance of Tsuzumigataki Park and Zuiko-ji Park. Tsuzumigataki is a historic scenic spot mentioned in waka poetry and Noh plays, but currently, the waterfall and river are difficult to see due to overgrown trees. We will carry out tree maintenance and renovation of the waterfall path to restore the beautiful waterfall scenery. In Zuiko-ji Park, we aim to restore the sound of the river and beautiful scenery by maintaining waterways and ponds that have been buried in sediment.
In the Kitano-Yamamoto area, we will illuminate historical buildings such as public foreign residences to create a landscape where the historical charm of the area can be felt even at night. We will illuminate the areas around shrines and the stone walls of plazas, creating a unified and beautiful nightscape throughout the entire area.
In Nankinmachi, we are proceeding with the renovation of aging facilities, and the repair of Xi'an Gate, Chang'an Gate, Haiei Gate, and Azumaya has been completed. Currently, the aging of the guide sign on the north side of the plaza is an issue, and we plan to repair and update this important guide facility, which includes explanations of history, the Spring Festival, and a town map.
