Nature Innovation Group Inc., which operates the umbrella sharing service 'Ikasa', announces that in conjunction with 'Umbrella Day' (June 11), it will newly install rental spots at 9 Tokyo Metro stations, expanding the service area to 52 stations and 108 locations. Even with sudden rain during the rainy season, you can borrow and return at stations, enabling travel without carrying an umbrella. In cooperation with Tokyo Metro, they plan to offer the second edition of the original design umbrella. The background is that disposable vinyl umbrellas bought due to sudden rain become waste, and lost umbrellas are also a problem. Tokyo Metro collected about 10,500 lost vinyl umbrellas last year, disposing of about 8,000. To solve this and improve convenience, installation began in 2022, aiming for expansion to all stations. New 9 stations, 12 spots will be added from June 10 to 12. The second original design umbrella features a hemp leaf pattern with route colors. Additionally, in July 2025, they will launch a parasol sharing service 'COOL MOVE TOKYO' and introduce a rain-or-shine folding umbrella 'Ikasa mini', providing a comfortable experience from rainy days to summer.
