Huis Ten Bosch to Open Pool Early and Enhance Heatstroke Countermeasures for Summer

The Huis Ten Bosch theme park resort in Nagasaki Prefecture, known for its brand concept of an "aspirational other world," will strengthen its heatstroke countermeasures throughout the park during this summer, which is expected to see extremely hot days, to ensure guests can safely and securely enjoy the continuous excitement.

As one of these measures, the Grand Summer Pool, originally scheduled to open on Friday, July 17, will now open earlier on Saturday, July 4 (for weekend access only).

Furthermore, starting Friday, July 17, a new spot, the "Cool Lounge," will be introduced, expanding the indoor rest area to about three times its previous size with more than double the seating. Some indoor rest areas will now also be accessible to guests with pets.

Other initiatives include a "Free Flow" event offering unlimited drinks throughout the day within the park, and the release of original Miffy-themed cooling merchandise and collaboration drinks. Heatstroke countermeasures for host crews who deliver smiles to our guests will also be enhanced to ensure they can work safely. We will implement various measures so that all stakeholders can spend their time at Huis Ten Bosch with peace of mind.

**Initiatives to Fully Enjoy Huis Ten Bosch Even in Extreme Heat**

**1. Early Opening of the Grand Summer Pool**

In response to this year's heat forecast and guest demand, the 50-meter diameter Grand Summer Pool in the ever-popular Water Garden will open two weeks ahead of schedule on weekends only. Large tents and poolside drink sales will also open early, allowing for breaks in the shade. On Friday, July 17, the new resort pool "European Aqua Lagoon" will debut, featuring new private cabanas with roofs for a resort-like experience away from the heat.

About 70% of Huis Ten Bosch's attractions are indoors. Guests of all ages can enjoy them without worrying about the heat, including new attractions like "Evangelion The Ride - 8K -" and "Miffy's Wonder Square." For outdoor attractions, queue lines will be equipped with parasols, misting fans, and new outdoor cooling units.

**3. New "Cool Lounge" and Pet-Friendly Spaces**

A new free "Cool Lounge" will be established in Amsterdam City. It is about three times larger than last year's space with more than double the seating. Cooling goods and drinks will be available. In a first for the park, the Passage corridor where the "Cool Lounge" is located and the "Free Space" in Harbor Town will be designated as pet-friendly indoor rest areas.
