Swiss luxury watch brand Hublot held the launch event “Hublot Big Bang Reloaded” at the Hublot Ginza Boutique on May 12, 2026, inviting brand ambassador and actor Kento Yamazaki to celebrate the release of the new Big Bang Reloaded. Hublot made a powerful impact on the watch industry with the launch of the Big Bang in 2005. In 2010, the brand introduced Unico, its in-house developed and manufactured chronograph movement, and has since built a unique position through innovation and originality. After marking the 20th anniversary of the Big Bang in 2025, Hublot announced the new Big Bang Reloaded in April 2026, further evolving the open-work Big Bang Unico and showcasing the structural beauty of its movement. At the event, a video expressing the world of the new model was shown. As the curtain dropped after the screening, Kento Yamazaki appeared wearing the Big Bang Reloaded, drawing the audience’s attention to the stage. The powerful yet refined timepiece enhanced Yamazaki’s poised presence. He exchanged greetings in English with Maxime Allard, Hublot President for the Asia Pacific region, whom he met for the first time that day, and the unveiling began in a warm atmosphere. The Big Bang Reloaded embodies Hublot’s innovation from the inside out, from movement and materials to design. Its open-work dial reveals the intricate chronograph movement, while the three-dimensional case design and bold form create a commanding presence. Yamazaki’s refined style resonated with the strong identity of the new model, presenting Hublot’s Art of Fusion. During the talk session, Yamazaki shared his impressions of wearing the newly arrived Big Bang Reloaded Titanium Ceramic and spoke about turning points in his acting career, inspired by the word “Reloaded.” He looked back on the first Kingdom film, in which he starred, as a major turning point. He said the challenge of the first film expanded his possibilities as an actor and led to who he is today, as well as to the fifth film in the series, scheduled for release this summer. Yamazaki also described five elements that make up who he is: a spirit of challenge in facing each role sincerely, curiosity in enjoying encounters with the unknown, staying true to his original intentions, freedom from constraints, and physical movement, which is a major strength in action and filmmaking. He said he values the desire to be excited by worlds he has never seen. He also noted that compelling works are not bound by nationality, and that he wants to take on interesting projects one by one wherever they may be in the world. Asked about the kind of actor he aims to become, Yamazaki said he wants to build experience through diverse roles and works, expand his range, and pursue expressions only he can deliver. When asked about his driving force, he said that while enjoying the work himself is important, films cannot be made alone, and the people who work alongside him and the fans who watch his work are his greatest motivation. Kento Yamazaki was born in Tokyo in 1994 and made his acting debut in 2010. He has appeared in prominent TV dramas, films, and stage productions. In recent years, he has starred in many popular works, including Kingdom: Battle of Destiny in July, Satsujin no Mon in February 2027, and the 2028 Taiga drama Jon Man. The watch worn at the event was the Big Bang Reloaded Titanium Ceramic, reference 421.NM.1123.NR.RLD, with a 44mm case and a tax-included price of 3,091,000 yen. The 2026 model reconstructs Hublot’s original Big Bang while faithfully inheriting its iconic design and asserting a bolder, sportier identity. Its key feature is improved legibility. The in-house Unico chronograph movement takes center stage, with color, contrast, and structural design highlighting the mechanics of the chronograph more clearly than ever. The fusion of materials such as titanium and ceramic, as well as fabric and rubber, completes a distinctive style symbolic of Hublot’s philosophy. The Big Bang Reloaded represents the evolution of both the Big Bang collection and the in-house Unico movement. It features a 44mm case and an open-work dial that allows the wearer to enjoy the architecture of the chronograph movement from the dial side. The collection is available in five variations: titanium ceramic, all black, blue ceramic, dark green ceramic, and Magic Gold. Founded in 1980, Hublot revolutionized luxury watchmaking by combining a gold case with a rubber strap. Its name comes from the French word for “porthole,” reflected in the bezel with screws inspired by a ship’s window. This also marked the birth of the brand’s Art of Fusion concept, the fusion of different materials and ideas. The Big Bang, introduced in 2005, won the Best Design Prize at the Grand Prix d’Horlogerie de Genève and became one of the first watch icons of the 21st century. From 2026 onward, Hublot has strengthened its warranty system. Eligible models purchased on or after January 1, 2026, receive a five-year basic warranty, with an additional five-year extension available through registration in the Hublotista program during the warranty period, expanding coverage to up to 10 years. The Unico movement, launched in 2010, was the first movement fully designed, developed, and manufactured in-house by Hublot. It marked a new era of independence, innovation, and identity for the brand. Known for its robustness, modular structure, and innovative chronograph design, Unico features a front-side column wheel, silicon escapement, modular flexibility, an integrated flyback chronograph accurate to 1/8 of a second, daily precision of -2/+4 seconds, and approximately 72 hours of power reserve. It also incorporates five patents and undergoes Hublot’s Chronofiable® testing protocol to ensure optimal performance, reliability, and precision.
