(Location: Chiyoda-ku, Tokyo; Representative Director: Kaoko Sakano), which provides job big data for analysis, has released the 'April 2026 Temporary Staff Average Hourly Wage and Job Vacancy Report.' *This survey collected and aggregated job information published on job media 'En-Haken' and 'Hatarako-net' using the job big data analysis tool 'HRog Chart.' *The scope of aggregation was changed to the two media mentioned above from March 2025 onwards. April 2026 Topics ■ The national average hourly wage for temporary staff in April was 1,598 yen (month-on-month increase of +17 yen, year-on-year increase of +30 yen). The national number of temporary job vacancies was 280,552 (month-on-month decrease of -35,510, year-on-year decrease of -44,016). National Job Vacancy and Average Hourly Wage Survey ■ The national average hourly wage for temporary staff in April was 1,598 yen (month-on-month increase of +17 yen, year-on-year increase of +30 yen), an increase of 1.08% from the previous month and 1.91% from the same month last year. [Figure 2] [Figure 2] Transition of National Job Vacancies Over the Past 25 Months Average Hourly Wage and Job Vacancy Survey by Occupation ■ The top 3 occupations in terms of average hourly wage growth rate (month-on-month) were: 1st Electric/Electronic/Machinery/Automobile (increase of +347 yen, +16.64%), 2nd Hotel/Ryokan/Bridal (increase of +45 yen, +3.23%), and 3rd Medical/Pharmaceutical/Welfare (increase of +45 yen, +2.85%). The lowest ranked was Sales/Customer Service/Service (decrease of -94 yen, -5.87%). [Figure 3] [Figure 3] Average Hourly Wage Growth Rate by Occupation ■ The top 3 occupations in terms of job vacancy growth rate (month-on-month) were: 1st Electric/Electronic/Machinery/Automobile (increase of +122, +43.42%), 2nd IT Engineer/IT Specialist (increase of +922, +10.00%), and 3rd Beauty/Esthetics/Nail (increase of +9, +9.68%). The lowest ranked was Hotel/Ryokan/Bridal (decrease of -173, -76.55%). [Figure 4] [Figure 4] Job Vacancy Growth Rate by Occupation Average Hourly Wage and Job Vacancy Survey by Prefecture ■ The top 3 prefectures in terms of average hourly wage growth rate (month-on-month) were: 1st Aomori Prefecture (increase of +50 yen, +4.28%), 2nd Nara Prefecture (increase of +48 yen, +3.45%), and 3rd Nagasaki Prefecture (increase of +32 yen, +2.47%). The bottom 3 were: 45th Okinawa Prefecture (change of ±0 yen, 0.00%), 46th Okayama Prefecture (decrease of -3 yen, -0.23%), and last Yamanashi Prefecture (decrease of -5 yen, -0.37%). [Figure 5] [Figure 5] Average Hourly Wage Growth Rate by Prefecture ■ The top 3 prefectures in terms of job vacancy growth rate (month-on-month) were: 1st Ehime Prefecture (increase of +282, +36.58%), 2nd Iwate Prefecture (increase of +114, +16.55%), and 3rd Aomori Prefecture (increase of +54, +10.11%). The bottom 3 were: 45th Okayama Prefecture (decrease of -342, -20.71%), 46th Kyoto Prefecture (decrease of -1,924, -22.91%), and last Nagasaki Prefecture (decrease of -219, -25.55%). April 2026: 280,552 The salary information in the job posting's salary field was converted to numerical values, and the lower bounds were summed and averaged. Work location information from job postings was acquired and aggregated. If a single job posting was associated with two or more prefectures for work location, the first listed prefecture was adopted. 'HRog Chart' aggregates information across multiple job media, so instead of using industry/occupation categories listed by the media, job information was classified and aggregated using industry/occupation categories based on 'HRog Chart's unique keyword mapping process. For the occupational survey, 16 out of 22 classified occupations were included.
