"I am very happy to have recovered from a finger fracture last September and to have won this tournament, which was my return to domestic competition. Precisely because last year's result was a disappointing second place, I approached this year with a strong desire to 'definitely achieve results.'
In the matches, our form broke down in the first set, and there were moments when I felt we were on the verge of defeat, unable to play as we wished. However, we then boldly changed our strategy. We clearly defined 'balls that are okay to drop' and 'balls that absolutely must be picked up,' and thoroughly focused on the latter. I feel that choosing this 'positive compromise' without sticking to our original form was the key to changing the flow of the match.
After returning to Japan in early April, I focused on physical conditioning from the basics for this tournament, my first of the season in Japan, and was able to compete in perfect condition. The next match will be the Japan Tour Nagoya tournament, which also serves as a selection for the Asian Games in autumn. Since I have been preparing for this tournament as a goal since last winter, I want to achieve solid results here as well.
Currently, I am also working hard every day to balance my regular work and preparations for management plan presentations. I will continue to challenge myself in a dual career, striving for my best in both competition and work."
