Farm Rich Shaved Ice
Nature wonder resort 'Hoshino Resorts Tomamu,' which embodies the essence of Hokkaido's landscape, collaborates for the third consecutive year with Sapporo's additive-free shaved ice specialty shop 'Mother Rich' to offer the limited-time 'Farm Rich Shaved Ice' from July 4 to August 16, 2026. This year's creation visually represents Tomamu's summer scenery—featuring clouds, grasslands, cows, and Tomamu The Tower—using strained yogurt from Farm Hoshino (*) and handcrafted kiwi sauce from Mother Rich. Only 20 servings will be available per day.

Background
At Farm Hoshino, we produce various dairy products using milk from cows raised in Tomamu. To raise awareness of Farm Hoshino's dairy products and activities through events and collaborations—and ultimately inspire visits to Tomamu—we began collaborating with Mother Rich, a Sapporo-based shaved ice shop. Mother Rich is a shaved ice specialty shop born from the owner's desire during child-rearing: 'to deliver shaved ice that both children and adults can enjoy without worrying about artificial colors or additives.' The shop emphasizes handmade preparation and uses ingredients from producers whose faces are known. Mother Rich's philosophy of 'delivering the charm of ingredients as they are' aligns with Farm Hoshino's mission of conveying regional bounty under the theme of 'Travel × Agriculture,' leading to a collaboration that began in 2024. This year marks Farm Hoshino's ninth year. As its initiatives are still not widely known, one reason for continuing this collaboration is to increase awareness among Hokkaido residents. In its third year, the collaboration has produced the 'Farm Rich Shaved Ice,' combining the strengths of both parties.
Features of 'Farm Rich Shaved Ice'
1. Depicting Tomamu's Summer: Expansive Clouds and Grasslands
Depicting Tomamu's Summer Landscape
Topped with whipped cream representing sea of clouds, kiwi sauce evoking grasslands, and shortbread cookies shaped like calves and Tomamu The Tower, this shaved ice dish captures 'Tomamu's summer scenery' in a single serving. It allows guests in Sapporo to experience the essence of summer at Tomamu.
2. Combination of Farm Hoshino's 'Strained Yogurt' and Handmade Kiwi Sauce
Ingredients Revealed as You Eat: Strained Yogurt
The shaved ice features Farm Hoshino's 'strained yogurt,' a rare treat even within Tomamu. By carefully removing moisture from yogurt, it achieves a rich, creamy texture with concentrated milk flavor. Paired with Mother Rich's handmade kiwi sauce, it offers a harmonious balance of richness and refreshing tartness. Hidden within are mixed berry jam, condensed milk, and honey, creating evolving flavors and textures with each bite.
3. Summer-Only Collaboration Since 2024

This marks the third year of collaboration with Mother Rich. In the first year, we launched the 'Milk Jam × Haskap Shaved Ice' using Farm Hoshino's milk jam and Hokkaido-grown haskap berries. The second year featured the 'Whey Milk Chocola Shaved Ice,' highlighting whey, a byproduct of dairy production. Both limited-time offerings received high praise, with some days selling out during the sales period. This third year, we present the 'Farm Rich Shaved Ice,' themed around Tomamu's summer landscape.
Comment from Hiroe Arichi, Owner of Mother Rich
'When representing Tomamu's landscape in shaved ice, I struggled with how to depict the green of the grasslands. Matcha was a candidate, but I wanted a flavor approachable for children, so I chose kiwi. When I first tasted Farm Hoshino's strained yogurt, I was surprised by its rich, full-bodied milk flavor. To highlight this taste, I made the kiwi sauce by hand, balancing it with the fruit's natural tartness. I hope both children and adults can enjoy this dessert while imagining summer at Tomamu.'

Pasture Scene at the Farm Area
Farm Hoshino is Hoshino Resorts' agricultural project that aims to produce agricultural products under the concept of 'Travel × Agriculture,' creating beautiful landscapes and pursuing delicious cuisine. The resort's location was once home to approximately 700 dairy cows before development. The project aims to restore the area's original natural scenery by returning resort-generated resources to the soil as compost, working in harmony with natural cycles. We aim to offer unique experiences that allow guests to enjoy and savor Hokkaido's authentic scenery—where cows graze peacefully, and delicious bounty is born from their presence.
