Hoshino Resorts’ RISONARE Proposes “Cool Resort Trips” Across Eight Domestic and Overseas Properties

RISONARE, a resort hotel brand offering space design that reflects each destination’s local character along with a wide range of activities and seasonal regional experiences, will propose “Cool Resort Trips” in summer 2026 across eight properties in Japan and overseas: Tomamu, Nasu, Yatsugatake, Atami, Osaka, Shimonoseki, Kohamajima, and Guam. As Japan’s summers grow increasingly severe, with days exceeding 40°C newly defined as “extremely hot days,” RISONARE will offer experiences that let guests enjoy each region’s unique sense of coolness. These include stays at highland properties located over 1,000 meters above sea level. The program goes beyond simple heat avoidance, offering immersive encounters with the nature and culture of each destination. At RISONARE Tomamu in Hokkaido, guests can spend a refreshing summer morning at the Unkai Terrace, located 1,088 meters above sea level, with close-up views of dynamic seas of clouds. Observation spots include Cloud Round, a viewing area with benches suspended from curved frames, and Cloud Walk, which feels like strolling above the clouds. The venue’s Cloud Cafe also serves cloud-inspired sweets such as the “Cloud Soft Serve.” At RISONARE Yatsugatake, located on a mountain foothill at around 1,000 meters above sea level, the summer event “Yatsugatake Marche 2026” lets guests meet local producers, buy vegetables, and taste them on the spot, including tomato shaved ice made with irregular tomatoes and whole-vegetable smoothies. At RISONARE Nasu, the “Rice Field Beer Garden” returns, offering pickled summer vegetables harvested from the property’s farm, local craft beer, views of the Nasu mountain range, and amazake shaved ice with the gentle sweetness of rice koji. For beach resort experiences, RISONARE Kohamajima is located on Kohama Island within Iriomote-Ishigaki National Park, Japan’s first certified International Dark Sky Park. Guests can relax in “Tingara Hammocks,” named after the Milky Way, while enjoying the night sea breeze and a sky full of stars. RISONARE Guam features one of Micronesia’s largest water parks, with multiple slides and pool activities for both children and adults. Guam’s only wave pool produces waves up to 1.2 meters high and offers surfing and bodyboarding experiences. Indoor cool experiences include RISONARE Atami’s first-ever “Fireworks Afternoon Tea,” held in Japanese Dining Hanabi, a space designed to evoke fireworks spreading across the night sky. Guests can avoid crowds and summer heat while enjoying sweets inspired by fireworks. RISONARE Shimonoseki, opened in December 2025, offers the “Kaikyo Cabana Suite,” a guest room inspired by beachside resort cabanas, with a living room featuring a sandy beach-like setting so guests can enjoy a private beach atmosphere indoors. RISONARE Osaka houses one of Japan’s largest ateliers on the 28th floor, overlooking Osaka Bay, where children can immerse themselves in creative activities indoors without concerns about heatstroke or weather.
