Feature 1: One-of-a-kind shaved ice expressing the natural "moss balls" scattered across Oirase Keiryu

Oirase Kokedama Gori and brownie/crumble representing bedrock. Moss balls scattered across Oirase Keiryu.

The humid climate and valley topography of Oirase Keiryu nurture over 300 types of moss, covering even the tops of rocks with a green carpet of moss. The "moss ball", where plants weave a landscape with moss as their foundation, has been expressed through shaved ice so that it can be enjoyed not only visually but also by taste. The surface of the moss is recreated with fluffy ice fragrant with matcha and herbs. As you dig in with your spoon, rich brownies and crumbles representing the bedrock beneath the moss appear. It is a special dish where you can eat, see, and learn about the mystery of nature woven by natural moss balls.

Feature 2: Five types of condiments expressing the formation process from moss growing on rocks to trees sprouting

Condiments expressing trees growing naturally on moss.

The natural moss balls scattered across Oirase Keiryu originate from the earth formed by hardened pyroclastic flows from Mount Hakkoda. Moss adheres to the bedrock and creates soil. Seeds of plants carried by wild birds sprout there, and rich trees grow thick, creating a mystical landscape woven by the cycle of life over many years. To allow you to taste this grand formation process with all five senses, we have prepared 5 types of condiments. We offer cookies inspired by birds carrying seeds, chocolate puffs expressing tree seeds, fresh herbs representing the sprouting of life, yogurt sauce expressing plant humus, and warabimochi inspired by moss glowing with moisture. Through these, you can enjoy a deep flavor that makes you feel as if you are reliving the history of Oirase Keiryu's landscape.

Feature 3: Original drink inspired by the cool scenery of Oirase Keiryu dotted with "moss balls"

An original drink recreating the cool scenery of Oirase Keiryu and the refreshing air of the forest.

In summer, a cool wind called "Yamase" (*1) blowing from the Pacific Ocean enters Oirase Keiryu, and deciduous broad-leaved trees create shade. We expressed the cool scenery where fresh moss sparkles under the sunlight filtering through the trees with an original herb tea soda. Lemongrass green tea is gorgeously scented with green spices, mint, and lime, recreating the refreshing air of the forest where moss breathes. Enjoyed alongside the shaved ice, you can savor the forest's story woven over a long time with a refreshing aftertaste.
