Horipro and acclaimed creators from the West End are jointly launching a new original musical, 'Nikola Tesla ~The Lonely Genius Edison Feared~', scheduled for September this year. The cast brings together four of Japan's leading and most talented theater actors: Naoto Kaiho, Songha, Megumi Hamada, and Natsumi Kon. Performance information and ticket sales details have now been decided, with the fastest lottery pre-sale starting on May 23rd (Saturday) via Horipro Stage. New musical production decided, brought to you by Horipro x acclaimed British creators! 100 minutes of non-stop impact, portrayed by 4 actors. The new original musical 'Nikola Tesla ~The Lonely Genius Edison Feared~', jointly launched by Horipro and acclaimed creators from the West End, is set to be performed! It will be staged at Kinokuniya Hall in Tokyo in September 2026 and at Umeda Arts Theater Drama City in Osaka in October. Music and lyrics are by Nick Butcher, who served as music and lyrics for 'The Little Big Things' staged in the West End, which was nominated for an Olivier Award for Best New Musical. He is also named in 'The Stage 100', which selects influential figures in British theater, making him one of the most watched young creators today. The script is by Roger Dipper, who created 'I Wish You Well', which garnered significant attention at the Edinburgh Fringe. And the direction is by Keisuke Shimohira, a director who is attracting keen attention as a next-generation talent. He challenges this world premiere stage with his bold yet delicate directorial skills, continuously breathing new life into his works. Furthermore, this production features a dense and thrilling structure where only four cast members play multiple roles. The approximately 100-minute story, without intermission, races like a roller coaster with sharply refined music. The cast includes Naoto Kaiho, Songha, Megumi Hamada, and Natsumi Kon.
