■ Comment from Tatsuya Fujiwara
The world tour for the stage play "Hard-Boiled Wonderland and the End of the World" has finally begun. It has been 13 years since I stood on stage in Singapore, since "Musashi". Performing overseas is always a series of discoveries, and this time, witnessing the different reactions of the audience compared to Japan on the opening day reaffirmed the joy of overseas performances and the depth of Murakami's world. Reuniting with director and choreographer Philippe in Singapore to brush up the production has given us momentum for the upcoming London and Paris performances in October. Being able to share the unique world of Haruki Murakami with an international audience in a theater is an irreplaceable experience as an actor. I will do my utmost best throughout this year-long tour.
■ Comment from Misato Morita
I am extremely delighted to have been able to deliver Haruki Murakami's worldview to the audience in Singapore, and to have experienced my first overseas performance!
There were many moments where the audience's reactions to the lines were different from those in Japan, which made me realize the various ways expressions can exist and further expanded the possibilities of acting for me.
With the London and Paris performances coming up in October, we will continue to build and refine the production through ongoing trial and error, one step at a time.

・Hard-Boiled Wonderland
"I" (Tatsuya Fujiwara), a Calcutec hired by the "System," masters a technique called "Shuffling" to encrypt requested information. One day, I am summoned by a mysterious Professor (Narushi Ikeda) and guided by his granddaughter (Miu Tomita) to his secret underground laboratory, where I am asked to perform "Shuffling." When I open the gift given to me by the Professor, I find a unicorn skull inside. At the library, where I go to research the skull, I meet an attractive female librarian (Misato Morita). However, for the sake of his research, the Professor has embedded a thought circuit in the core of my consciousness. With the remaining time until the end of the world closing in, I escape the underground world, but where will I go?
・The End of the World
"I" (Kiita Komagine / Ryunosuke Shimamura) have arrived in a Town surrounded by a high Wall. The people of the Town seemingly live peaceful days. Upon entering the Town, my shadow is severed by the Gatekeeper (Shinya Matsuda), and I am told that I will lose my mind as soon as my "Shadow" (Shuntaro Miyao) dies. In an old library, aided by a beautiful Girl (Misato Morita), I am given the job of reading dreams contained in unicorn skulls. However, my "Shadow" asks me to map the Town.
