HORIBA's New Commercial "Yattaru Clan" to Air from April 1st

HORIBA, Ltd. (Headquarters: Minami-ku, Kyoto; President & CEO Masayuki Adachi; hereinafter referred to as "the Company") will broadcast two new commercials on television in the Kansai region for one week starting April 1, 2026. Additionally, the latest installment of a popular animated film shown at TOHO CINEMAS Umeda will feature these commercials as pre-show advertisements from April 24th to April 30th.

With the key phrase "Not just measuring, but realizing we move the world," these commercials express how HORIBA's analysis and measurement technologies contribute to society through a wide range of solutions. The commercials depict employees active both domestically and internationally, contrasted with the envious "World Conquest Yattaru Clan," an evil organization, using animation. The focus is on the "people" who are the driving force behind HORIBA. These are playful commercials that alternate between live-action and animation.

Background of Production

Changing the style from our previous commercials, we pursued "originality that is loved for a long time." To comically depict employees working with ambition, we adopted the setting of a somewhat bumbling but not entirely detestable evil organization. We created original characters that make the animated dialogue "You measured it, HORIBA!" stand out. By giving reality and humor to their frustrated expressions, we aimed for a unique worldview that would evoke affection. The commercials feature a fast-paced alternation between retro-style monochrome animation and colorful, high-contrast live-action footage of employees, a composition designed to make the employees' work stand out even more.

With the main copy "Not just measuring, but realizing we move the world," we communicated that HORIBA, with its core analysis and measurement technology, is an entity that moves the world forward through a wide range of solutions, not just equipment. Furthermore, by depicting employees who approach their work with sincerity and dedication, we have woven in the nuance that "people" are the "driving force that moves the world."

Two commercials have been produced: "Yattaru Clan ~World Conquest~" and "Yattaru Clan ~Expanding Influence~."

The "World Conquest" episode depicts the evil organization "World Conquest Yattaru Clan" witnessing HORIBA's expanding global presence and reacting with frustration. The "Expanding Influence" episode humorously portrays the Yattaru Clan's competitive spirit being ignited by the sight of diverse members working vibrantly across countries and regions. An original song for this commercial, which complements the visual worldview, also livens up the story at a brisk pace.
