While this is a downward trend compared to the previous 160%+, 'full' conditions still occur during peak hours and on specific sections. [Congestion and Vehicle Conditions] 100%: Capacity. Can sit or hold a strap. 139% (Current average): Shoulders touch. Can barely read a newspaper. 150%: Shoulders touch, very cramped near doors. 180%: Can read a folded newspaper. Bodies touch, feeling of pressure. [Humidity Measures by Railway Companies] Railway companies mainly use 'automatic dehumidification by air conditioning' and 'forced ventilation by outside air intake.' 1. Dehumidification/Humidity Control: Modern vehicles have sensors that detect humidity. Automatic dehumidification switches on when humidity exceeds a set value. It links with congestion detection to increase cooling/dehumidification power. 2. Forced Ventilation: Air conditioning units on the roof handle both temperature control and ventilation. Fresh outside air is introduced, replacing the air in the car every 5-7 minutes. [Our Proposal] 1. Adjust air environment by finishing walls/ceilings with plaster or diatomaceous earth (using non-combustible materials). 2. Apply high-deodorizing catalyst (Pt) coatings inside the train. 3. Install sensors linked to the discomfort index to automate air conditioning.
