TOPPAN Holdings' Printing Museum to Exhibit Collection at Chiba Prefectural Museum of Art Special Exhibition

The Printing Museum, operated by TOPPAN Holdings, will provide its collection to the special exhibition "Opening, Turning, Revolving: Beautiful Prints of the Printing Museum," which will be held at the Chiba Prefectural Museum of Art starting Saturday, June 27, 2026.

This exhibition, organized by the Chiba Prefectural Museum of Art, aims to make the precious items held by the Printing Museum accessible to a wider audience. The exhibition features carefully selected works created by thinkers, writers, designers, and craftspeople who utilized the most advanced technology of their time. It unravels how printing has recorded eras and shaped culture through the technical and cultural backgrounds hidden within these printed materials.

Furthermore, in conjunction with the Chiba Prefectural Museum of Art, the exhibition will feature works associated with the local climate and maritime themes of Chiba, including the "Koshin Meiji 37 Calendar" by Chu Asai, a painter with ties to Chiba who was close to Tatsutaro Kawai, the first president of Toppan Printing Co., Ltd., the predecessor of TOPPAN Holdings.

2. Japanese Printing: The world of literature and the essence of craftsmanship. Reviews the history of Japanese printing culture from the Heian and Edo periods to the modern era through representative printed works.
