TOPPAN to Exhibit at the 28th INTERPHEX JAPAN

TOPPAN Co., Ltd. (Headquarters: Bunkyo-ku, Tokyo; President & Representative Director: Haruhiko Noguchi; hereinafter TOPPAN), a group company of TOPPAN Holdings, will exhibit at the 28th INTERPHEX JAPAN, held within the 28th INTERPHEX Week Tokyo [Pharmaceuticals] [Cosmetics] R&D and Manufacturing Show at Makuhari Messe from May 20 (Wed) to 22 (Fri), 2026.

At the TOPPAN booth (Hall 7, Stand 35-40), the company will introduce its latest environment-friendly packages that enhance environmental suitability while maintaining the high barrier properties and quality preservation required for pharmaceutical packaging. The lineup centers on the latest packages achieving mono-materialization and de-aluminumization of PTP (Press Through Package) packaging, proposing sustainable choices for the pharmaceutical industry.

■ Main Exhibits
As global environmental regulations such as Europe's PPWR (Packaging and Packaging Waste Regulation) are being established toward a sustainable society, reducing the environmental impact of packaging materials has become an essential element of corporate sustainability activities. Although primary packaging for pharmaceuticals is currently excluded from PPWR, initiatives toward resource circulation have become important considerations in the pharmaceutical industry in line with global trends.

At the TOPPAN booth, packages aimed at realizing resource circulation in the pharmaceutical industry will be introduced through the themes of 'Mono-material,' 'De-aluminum,' and 'Recycle.'

・Mono-material Corner
Exhibiting pharmaceutical packages with improved recyclability through mono-materialization. In addition to various packaging materials that balance high barrier properties with a single-material structure, TOPPAN will introduce the mono-materialization of lid materials for PTP packaging, which is garnering significant attention. The booth will present TOPPAN's unique design examples that satisfy both pharmaceutical quality maintenance and resource circulation.

・De-aluminum Corner
Utilizing 'GL BARRIER,' a transparent vapor-deposited barrier film with world-class performance, TOPPAN will exhibit packages that achieve high barrier properties without using aluminum. The corner will introduce optimal de-aluminum choices for various applications, ranging from high barrier protection required for advanced contents to high-versatility middle barriers. TOPPAN will also propose packages that contribute to reducing CO2 emissions during the manufacturing process.

・Recycle Corner
Exhibiting the latest resource circulation packages that comply with requirements for recycled design and use of recycled materials demanded by PPWR and other regulations. In addition to recycled material packages using mechanical recycled PET or recycled OPP, resource circulation labels that do not hinder the recycling of the container body will be displayed. TOPPAN will introduce schemes ranging from resource circulation that achieves both reduction of petroleum-derived raw materials and CO2 emissions to upcycling initiatives.

Furthermore, environmentally friendly production methods such as water-based flexo printing, which uses almost no solvents, and non-solvent lamination will be introduced. From material selection to design and manufacturing processes, TOPPAN will offer total proposals for decarbonization and resource circulation throughout the entire product lifecycle of packaging.
