Panasonic Automotive Systems Co., Ltd. (President: Masatoshi Nagayasu, Headquarters: Yokohama, Kanagawa, hereinafter Panasonic Automotive Systems) announced that its Cockpit Domain Controller (hereinafter CDC) (※1) has been adopted for Mazda Corporation's new "MAZDA CX-5" (scheduled for release in Europe in December 2025 and Japan in May 2026). This product is planned for deployment in countries and regions including Japan, North America, and Europe.

The new CX-5, developed with the concept of "New Generation Emotional Daily Comfort," evolves its design and driving performance, enhancing interior space, comfort, and quietness. Furthermore, by adopting the new electronic platform "MAZDA E/E ARCHITECTURE+", it features a renewed Human-Machine Interface (hereinafter HMI), enhanced communication functions and applications, and advanced driver-assistance systems (ADAS), developed as a vehicle that allows all occupants to enjoy driving with peace of mind, safety, and comfort. The adopted CDC serves as the core system of the cockpit, supporting these advanced HMIs.

This product is a cockpit platform that supports the transition to Software Defined Vehicles (hereinafter SDVs). It utilizes an updatable foundation, enabling continuous functional evolution via Over-The-Air updates, while comprehensively controlling cockpit areas such as the in-vehicle infotainment system, head-up display, and meters. Additionally, through advanced integration with peripheral devices and support for advanced UX including voice operation, it provides users with an intuitive and comfortable operating experience.

Furthermore, in the development of this product, Panasonic Automotive Systems supports VirtIO (※2), an open device virtualization technology promoted for industry standardization. This enables continuous software evolution and contributes to maximizing the value of future software assets. Moving forward, Panasonic Automotive Systems will contribute to the evolution of vehicle software platforms in the SDV era.
