Kadoma City, Osaka Prefecture (hereinafter 'Kadoma City') and Panasonic Electric Works Co., Ltd. (hereinafter 'Panasonic EW') signed the 'Business Collaboration Agreement for Promoting Lifelong Learning (Citizen Learning) at the Kadomado Cultural Creation Library' on July 3, 2026.

This agreement aims to establish a new public-private co-creation model by utilizing the Kadomado Cultural Creation Library (hereinafter 'KADOMADO'), which opened in May 2026, as a platform to create learning opportunities for citizens and validate the social implementation of advanced technologies.

In recent years, public facilities are increasingly expected to serve not only traditional service functions but also as spaces where citizens can experience new technologies and values, envisioning future society. KADOMADO opened as a new community hub centered on the themes of 'learning,' 'exchange,' and 'creation,' designed to attract diverse generations.

Meanwhile, Panasonic EW, headquartered in Kadoma City, engages in research, development, and sales of lighting and electrical equipment, as well as various co-creation initiatives aimed at solving social challenges. This collaboration was initiated following a visit by Kadoma City officials to SHIOMER (Shiomer), Panasonic EW's R&D co-creation hub located in Minato Ward, Tokyo.

Under this agreement, KADOMADO will be used as a demonstration field to conduct pilot experiments on technologies and services developed by Panasonic EW. The effectiveness of these technologies will be evaluated using feedback and usage data from facility users, while simultaneously creating opportunities for citizens to experience and learn about cutting-edge technologies.

Beyond pilot experiments, the collaboration will include lectures and workshops to promote lifelong learning and nurture next-generation talent. Additionally, Panasonic EW will highlight its presence as a manufacturing and R&D base in Kadoma City, fostering greater community attachment and understanding.

As the first initiative under this agreement, demonstration experiments for the 'Cool Share Spot' and 'contactless charging' will be conducted at KADOMADO.

Kadoma City and Panasonic EW will challenge new value creation by linking citizen learning with corporate technology development, co-creating the future of public facilities together with the local community.
