Panasonic to Launch Three Fire TV-Enabled Mini LED 4K LCD Viera Series, Totaling 10 Models

Panasonic Corporation announced that it will release three series of Fire TV-enabled Mini LED 4K LCD televisions featuring advanced Mini LED backlight control technology: the flagship W97C series, the high-grade W95C series, and the standard W93C series, for a total of 10 models. The W95C series is scheduled for release in late June 2026, while the W97C and W93C series are planned for late July 2026. The flagship W97C series features the newly developed “Bright Black Panel Ultra.” By combining a high-brightness Mini LED backlight, a high-brightness wide-viewing-angle sheet, quantum dot technology, and “W Area Control Ultra,” the series achieves approximately twice the peak brightness of Panasonic’s previous model while improving black reproduction, contrast, viewing angle, and color performance. Its finely divided backlight area control and minimum luminance control enable deep blacks and rich gradation without crushing dark details. For audio, each series uses an optimized speaker configuration and supports Dolby Atmos. The W97C series includes a multi-speaker “360 Spatial Sound System” with enabled speakers, along with Panasonic’s proprietary “Front Firing Emulator” audio processing algorithm, delivering clearer sound, better voice localization, and a more natural, immersive viewing experience. The TVs run on Fire TV. A home screen that integrates broadcast television and streaming video will offer more intuitive content discovery through a new UI. The models also support a voice-searchable remote, 4K 144p input, VRR, and other gaming features. All three series include an anti-tip stand designed to reduce the risk of tipping during earthquakes, with safety considerations in mind. With the W97C series at the top of the lineup, Panasonic is expanding its Mini LED-based Viera range through the W95C and W93C series. Under the concept of “Black Viera,” the company aims to enhance living-room viewing experiences with bright, high-contrast images and carefully tuned black reproduction.
