Infrastructure Management DX Service 'LD-Map' Launched for Municipalities Nationwide

Panasonic Electric Works Co., Ltd. (hereafter, Panasonic EW) will launch its infrastructure management DX service 'LD-Map' in May 2026. This service enables municipalities to proactively identify deterioration risks, such as rust, on small-scale road fixtures like streetlights and convex mirrors (*1) and perform preventive maintenance. This service is an infrastructure management solution that allows anyone to easily perform inspections and deterioration diagnoses. It was developed by reflecting feedback from the field through demonstrations in municipalities, including Niihama City and Yawatahama City in Ehime Prefecture. Based on the knowledge gained during the demonstration period, we aim for its utilization in municipalities nationwide. The vast number of streetlights and convex mirrors managed by municipalities across the country, combined with labor shortages and paper-ledger-based operations, makes it difficult to grasp their state of deterioration. In particular, many streetlight poles have not been replaced for many years and are aging, increasing the risk of collapse, which has become a major issue. Leveraging its expertise in selling solution products such as outdoor lighting fixtures and replacement poles for streetlights, Panasonic EW identified the crisis on the ground. In 2023, it began developing 'LD-Map' jointly with Arbito Co., Ltd. (*2), a company with a proven track record in building processes from image capture of infrastructure facilities to analysis and repair. 'LD-Map' uses AI to analyze photos taken with a smartphone and diagnose deterioration conditions such as rust and holes. The inspection results are placed on a map on a smartphone or PC, visualizing the deterioration status and inspection/repair history, allowing for an overview confirmation of replacement and repair priorities. Inspection records are accumulated as a digital ledger, enabling report generation and information sharing. The service supports the maintenance of a wide range of infrastructure facilities managed by municipalities, including streetlights and convex mirrors. In the future, we will further improve AI analysis accuracy, expand the scope of managed objects, and strengthen data linkage. We will continue to enhance functions and provide value as a solution that supports the safety and security of local communities, aiming for approximately 100 adoptions by 2030. **** 1.
