On Thursday, March 26, 2026, Panasonic Automotive Systems Co., Ltd. (President: Masashi Nagayasu; Headquarters: Yokohama, Kanagawa Prefecture; hereinafter "the Company") hosted an office tour at its Yokohama office for 11 female middle and high school students. This event was part of "Girls Meet STEM," a tour-based program organized by the Shintaro Yamada D&I Foundation, aimed at conveying the appeal of careers in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) fields to female students and expanding their career possibilities.
The Company promotes Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI), believing that creating an environment where every individual can maximize their personality and abilities, regardless of gender or background, is essential for sustainable corporate growth. We have made closing the gender gap a key theme and are participating in this program as part of our efforts to foster the next generation of women who will excel in STEM fields.
<Main Content of the Office Tour> We conducted a program that allowed participants to experience future mobility technology and the appeal of the work that supports it.
1. New Mobility Space Experience Participants experienced the space of the "Well Cabin" project vehicle. Through interactions with AI and new mobility experiences that go beyond mere transportation, participants engaged with the Company's products and technologies.
2. Programming Experience: Learning the "Joy of Creating" through AI x Mobility Participants experienced a portion of the AI development used in mobility through simple programming. They learned about the "joy of creating AI themselves," the "difficulty of making it move as intended," and the "fun of building things while cooperating as a team."
3. Roundtable Discussion with Senior Employees: Visualizing "Working in a STEM Field" Participants interacted with senior employees who have STEM backgrounds and are active in various roles. Senior employees answered candid questions such as "Why did you choose a STEM path?" and "Is it okay to choose a STEM path even if I'm not good at STEM subjects?" by sharing their own experiences. This provided an opportunity for participants to form concrete images of their future choices and ways of working.
Participant Feedback "It was amazing to experience the sound, light, and scent of the Well Cabin. I want to ride in a car like this in the future." "I have used AI before, but I didn't know that so many people were involved behind the scenes." "Through the AI experience and talking to the senior employees, I became interested in AI technology and the jobs related to it."
Future Events and Applications The Company plans to hold this office tour twice a year moving forward. Applications for this event can be made through "Girls Meet STEM," a tour-based experience program for female middle and high school students in the STEM field operated by the Shintaro Yamada D&I Foundation. Those interested in participating should wait for the next recruitment announcement on the website below.
