Panasonic Automotive Systems Co., Ltd. (President: Masari Nagayasu, Headquarters: Yokohama, Kanagawa Prefecture, hereinafter referred to as "the Company") held an office tour for junior and senior high school girls at its Yokohama office on Thursday, March 26, 2026, with 11 participants. This event is part of the "Girls Meet STEM" tour program organized by the Shintaro Yamada Foundation for Diversity & Inclusion, aiming to convey the appeal of jobs in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) fields to junior and senior high school girls and broaden their career possibilities.
The Company believes that creating an environment where each individual can maximize their unique talents and abilities, regardless of gender or background, is essential for sustainable corporate growth, and is promoting Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI). In particular, addressing the gender gap is a key theme, and the Company is participating in this program as part of its efforts to nurture the next generation of women active in STEM fields.
Key Contents of the Office Tour:
A program was implemented to allow participants to experience the appeal of future mobility technologies and the jobs that support them.
1. Experiencing New Mobility Space
Participants experienced the space within the "Well Cabin" project vehicle. They encountered the Company's products and technologies through a new mobility experience that goes beyond mere transportation, and through interaction with AI.
2. Programming Experience: Learning the "Joy of Creation" with AI x Mobility
Participants experienced a part of AI development utilized in mobility through simple programming. They learned about the "joy of creating AI themselves," the "difficulty of making it work as intended," and the "fun of building something together as a team.".
3. Roundtable Discussion with Senior Employees: "Visualizing Myself Working in a STEM Field"
Participants interacted with senior employees who are active in various roles and have backgrounds in STEM fields. Senior employees answered candid questions such as "Why did you choose a STEM field?" and "Is it okay to choose a STEM field even if you're not good at STEM subjects?" by sharing their own experiences. This provided participants with an opportunity to concretely imagine their future choices and ways of working.
