Hirakata City, Osaka Prefecture (hereinafter, Hirakata City) and Panasonic Corporation (hereinafter, Panasonic) have agreed to jointly work towards realizing "Hirakata, a city that continues to develop and where each individual shines," which is easy to raise children even as the population declines, as stated in the 5th Hirakata City Comprehensive Plan, and have concluded an agreement.

Based on this agreement, a demonstration experiment will be conducted to measure the impact and effects of using dishwashers (hereinafter, dishwashers) to shorten housework time and reduce housework burden, thereby promoting child-rearing support and housework sharing, and to understand what kind of public services are needed. In the demonstration experiment, dishwashers will be lent to citizens free of charge, and the effects on reducing housework burden and promoting housework sharing will be jointly investigated and analyzed.

The tabletop dishwasher "Slim Dishwasher" NP-TSP1 used in this demonstration has a slim design with a depth of approximately 34.1 cm, allowing it to be placed next to the kitchen sink, yet it has the capacity to wash 24 dishes for approximately 4 people at once, and can also wash cooking utensils such as 26 cm diameter frying pans, cutting boards, and knives. In addition, it is a tank type that does not require the installation of a branch water valve, making it easy to use.

Going forward, Hirakata City and Panasonic will utilize the results obtained through this project to further understand the support needs for promoting child-rearing support and consider new policies.
