Panasonic Automotive Systems Co., Ltd. (Representative Director and President: Masashi Nagayasu, Headquarters: Yokohama City, Kanagawa Prefecture, hereinafter "the Company") held an office tour for female junior and senior high school students at its Yokohama office on Thursday, March 26, 2026, with 11 participants. This event is part of a tour-style program called "Girls Meet STEM" hosted by the Shintaro Yamada D&I Foundation. It aims to convey the appeal of jobs in the STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) fields to female students and expand their career possibilities. The Company believes that creating an environment where every individual, regardless of gender or background, can maximize their individuality and abilities is essential for sustainable corporate growth, and thus promotes Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI). In particular, we have identified closing the gender gap as a key theme and are participating in this program as part of our efforts to nurture the next generation of women who will play active roles in the STEM fields.
We implemented a program where participants could experience future mobility technologies and the appeal of the jobs that support them. 1. New Mobility Space Experience Participants experienced the space of the "Well Cabin" project vehicle. Through new mobility experiences that are more than just a means of transportation and dialogues with AI, participants came into contact with our products and technologies. 2. Programming Experience: Learning the "Joy of Creating" with AI x Mobility Participants experienced a glimpse of AI development used in mobility through simple programming. They learned the "joy of creating AI themselves," the "difficulty of making it work as intended," and the "fun of building it together as a team." 3. Roundtable Discussion with Senior Employees: Envisioning "Myself Working in a Science Field" Participants interacted with senior employees from science backgrounds who are active in various professions. The employees answered candid questions such as "Why did you choose a science field?" and "Is it okay to choose a science field even if I'm not good at science subjects?" using their own experiences. This provided participants with an opportunity to form a concrete image of their future career options and work styles. ■ Participant Feedback "It was amazing to experience the sounds, lights, and scents of the Well Cabin. I want to ride in a car like this in the future." "I've used AI before, but I didn't know that so many people were involved behind the scenes." "Through the AI experience and talking with the employees, I became interested in AI technology and related jobs." ■ Future Events and Application The Company plans to hold this office tour twice a year moving forward. This event is a tour-style experience program in the STEM field for female junior and senior high school students operated by the Shintaro Yamada D&I Foundation.
