On February 1, Reiwa 8 (2026), Hokuto City will celebrate its 20th anniversary, and on March 26, Reiwa 8 (2026), the Hokkaido Shinkansen will mark its 10th anniversary. To commemorate these milestones, commemorative banners have been installed within Shin-Hakodate-Hokuto Station.

Features of the Commemorative Banners (Double-sided)

Design ① This design features the logo mark celebrating Hokuto City's 20th anniversary and the children's song "Akatombo" (Red Dragonfly), which is scheduled to be adopted as this year's Shinkansen departure melody. This design incorporates winning entries from a photo contest held by the Hokuto City Tourism Association.

Design ② Along with the Hokkaido Shinkansen 10th Anniversary logo, images of "Hokkeji Temple's Weeping Cherry Tree" and "Trappist Monastery," which evoke the essence of "speaking of Hokuto City...", are arranged.

Hokuto City 20th Anniversary Logo Mark Hokuto City solicited designs for a "commemorative logo mark" to celebrate its 20th anniversary.

Based on the winning entries, digital processing and text additions were performed to create a total of 9 types of designs.

They are currently available on Hokuto City's official website for widespread use.

Zushi Hokki (Hokuto City's mascot) is included, and local specialties of Hokuto City are scattered throughout. The number 20 is expressed in the colors of the sea, mountains, and rice fields. The highlight is that the '0' in '20th' is made into a tomato, a specialty of Hokuto City!
