Hochi Shimbun (President and Representative Director: Tsuyoshi Hasegawa) will hold the 'Reiwa 8 Hochi Hauta Appreciation Event' at the Asakusa Public Hall (Asakusa, Taito-ku, Tokyo) on Sunday, April 26. Hauta, sung to the accompaniment of a shamisen played with a plectrum (bachi), is a popular song style that developed from the end of the Edo period through the Meiji period and was widely loved by the common people. Please enjoy the refined voices of performers active on the front lines, including the heads of various schools.

[Participating Schools] A total of 62 performances are planned from 13 schools: Aoba, Edokouta, Sasaki, Shamisen Toyotomi, Shinsui, Suehiro, Senbon, Nagano, Hauta Negishi, Hanaki, Honjo, Miyabi, and Wakamiya.
