Hmcomm Co., Ltd. (Headquarters: Minato-ku, Tokyo; President and CEO: Koji Mihon, hereinafter "Hmcomm"), a company dedicated to delivering value through "sound," announces that it has deepened its collaboration with Needswell Co., Ltd. (Headquarters: Chiyoda-ku, Tokyo; President: Hajime Matsuoka, hereinafter "Needswell"). The two companies will strengthen the sales structure for Hmcomm's conversational AI agents such as "Terry2 mini" and officially launch joint proposal activities in the areas of municipalities, contact centers, and corporate back-office operations.
This initiative goes beyond a simple sales agency agreement. It represents a strategic enhancement of sales and proposal channels aimed at accelerating the social implementation of Hmcomm's AI products and is positioned as a crucial step toward future project generation and expansion of recurring revenue.
Under this collaboration, Needswell will promote the sales and implementation of Hmcomm's voice recognition and dialogue solutions—centered on the conversational AI agents "Terry2" and "Terry2 mini"—through its established customer network. Both companies aim to improve operational efficiency and enhance customer experience value (CX) in customer-facing operations, particularly in the call center industry, by accelerating the adoption of AI-powered automated responses and conversational agents.
Background and Objectives
Since the start of their business partnership on May 19, 2025, Hmcomm and Needswell have been working together to build a collaborative framework in the field of voice DX solutions.
In recent years, labor shortages have become increasingly severe across various sectors, including call centers, local governments, finance, and manufacturing. This has led to a surge in demand for voice AI solutions to improve operational efficiency. However, traditional voice AI implementations have faced barriers such as high costs and long timelines due to custom system integrations, as well as the difficulty of securing specialized technical personnel.
To address these challenges, Hmcomm launched "Terry2 mini" in May 2026—a SaaS-based service that enables rapid and low-cost deployment. To accelerate market expansion in the enterprise sector, Hmcomm has been strengthening its "Sales Agency Program."
Meanwhile, Needswell, as an independent systems integrator, has been involved in software development across a wide range of industries, primarily focusing on financial systems. The company enhances its offerings with AI, RPA, and other technologies, providing diverse IT solutions that support digital transformation (DX) not only for private enterprises but also in the public sector. In recent years, Needswell has been collaborating with Nagasaki University on joint academic-industry projects to develop and design generative AI-based solutions, actively challenging IT cultural transformation.
This new agency agreement builds upon the existing partnership between the two companies and is part of Hmcomm's ongoing "Sales Agency Program." By leveraging Needswell's robust sales channels, Hmcomm aims to expand its reach to customer segments that were previously difficult to access independently, thereby increasing adoption rates and strengthening its recurring revenue base.
Key Features of "Terry2 mini"
"Terry2 mini" inherits the high-precision speech recognition and natural language processing technologies of the original "Terry2" while being designed as a standardized product.
Main features include:
1. Rapid Deployment: Utilizing standardized functions, operations can begin within a few days to a few weeks.
2. Low-Cost Operation: Offered as a SaaS service, minimizing initial investment with a monthly subscription model.
3. Business-Specific Packages: Ready-to-use solutions for immediate deployment, supporting use cases such as FAQ handling, initial inquiries, and appointment booking.
4. Natural Dialogue Experience: Leverages generative AI to deliver real-time, human-like conversational interactions.
Future Developments and Synergies
Through this collaboration, both companies will further enhance the use of industry-specific templates—such as those for real estate, insurance, and e-commerce—and strengthen partnerships with other sales agents.
Additionally, using "Terry2 mini" as an entry point, the companies plan to propose future upgrades to the enterprise-grade "Terry2" platform and customized development solutions. This will establish a long-term support framework aligned with the growth of client organizations, aiming to maximize customer lifetime value and advance the sophistication of their mid-to-long-term revenue base.
Outlook
At this stage, the impact of this initiative on Hmcomm's financial performance is expected to be minimal. However, in the medium to long term, it is anticipated to contribute significantly to strengthening Hmcomm's revenue foundation and enhancing growth potential. Should this initiative have a material impact on performance in the future, the company will promptly disclose such information.
