Commencement of Demonstration Test for EV Battery Life Prediction Diagnosis

H.K.S. Co., Ltd. (Headquarters: Fujinomiya City, Shizuoka Prefecture; President and CEO: Daisuke Mizuguchi; hereinafter "H.K.S.") will provide dedicated devices for the demonstration test of KD e Solutions Co., Ltd. (hereinafter "KDES")'s EV battery life prediction diagnostic technology.

By combining "actual EV battery data" obtained through Denchi Co., Ltd. (hereinafter "Denchi")'s proprietary "Electrochemical Impedance Spectroscopy"※1 with "vehicle data" collected via H.K.S.'s dedicated device, this new approach enables highly accurate prediction of EV battery lifespan.

This advancement will visualize battery value, clarifying optimal timing for vehicle replacement and secondary battery use※2, thereby accelerating the circular economy※3 from battery production to disposal.

※1 A method that sends a continuously frequency-variable weak signal directly into the EV battery via the charging port and analyzes the response to predict degradation.

※2 Initiatives to repurpose lithium-ion batteries after their automotive use by utilizing their remaining performance for alternative applications.

※3 An economic system that continuously generates added value in a sustainable manner by circulating resources and minimizing waste.

Additional diagnostic function for predicting EV battery fire risk planned (demonstration test to begin autumn 2026 or later)

Demonstration test period: July 2026 – March 2027

・Battery life prediction diagnosis to begin at KDES-owned facilities (Osaka, Sakai, Kyoto) (scheduled for July)

・Expansion of target vehicle models (scheduled for October)

Test content: Expansion of target EV models (Nissan Leaf 1st generation, Sakura) and continuous improvement of diagnostic accuracy
