HITOWA Co., Ltd. (Headquarters: Minato Ward, Tokyo; President and CEO: Kiyotaka Sudoh), a provider of comprehensive life support services, has opened the residential-type senior care home 'Ilise Niigata Central Active Living' (hereinafter 'the facility') in Chuo Ward, Niigata City, Niigata Prefecture, on July 1, 2026.

This newly opened facility follows the same 'Active Living' concept as 'Ilise Asahikawa 9-jo-dori' (Asahikawa City, Hokkaido), 'Ilise Yatsushiro' (Sendai City, Miyagi Prefecture), and 'Ilise Sakado' (Sakado City, Saitama Prefecture), all opened in 2025. With the vision that all residents can live positively and joyfully in their own way, the facility provides caregiving services that enrich emotional well-being and enhance personalized quality of life (QOL).

【Main Features of 'Ilise Niigata Central Active Living'】

Standard-equipped with 'VoiceTa!' for face-to-face communication with distant family members

All rooms are equipped with 'VoiceTa!' (※2), a conversational AI powered by smart home (Alexa) technology (※1). Residents can enjoy video calls with family anytime and also use it to communicate with facility staff. Staff will invite residents to brain training or oral exercises via 'VoiceTa!', and provide daily reminders, enabling active and enjoyable living even within private rooms. Simple voice operation is supported by attentive staff assistance.

Dedicated Activity Coordinator to plan diverse events

The facility's 'Activity Coordinator' proposes and organizes a wide range of recreational activities that provide pleasant mental and physical stimulation, including seasonal events, sports viewing (e.g., Albirex Niigata), music, hobbies, exercise, brain training, beauty sessions, and dog therapy. Residents can enjoy outings, personal hobbies, or savor snacks and seasonal meals within the facility, living their ideal 'Ilise Life' (※3).

Implementation of 'monitoring system' and 'medication support system' for daily safety and health

The facility introduces 'LIFELENS (Life Friends)' (※4), a monitoring system jointly developed with Panasonic, which tracks residents' sleep and movement 24/7 in real time, enabling prompt responses and enhanced safety. Additionally, the medication support system 'Fukuyakkyun' (※5) ensures safe medication management. By integrating advanced IT systems, the facility comprehensively supports residents' daily safety, health management, and prevention of medication errors.

Nursing floor established for residents with high medical dependency

Fifteen rooms on the first floor are designated as a specialized nursing floor for residents with high medical dependency or specific intractable diseases (e.g., terminal cancer, ALS, Parkinson’s-related conditions). In coordination with visiting nursing stations, medical care such as suctioning and insulin administration will also be available upon consultation for residents living outside this dedicated floor (※6).

A serene residence celebrating life as a 'mountain climb'—a senior care home embraced by Niigata's 'natural scenery'

Beyond high-quality caregiving services, the facility emphasizes architectural and interior design to ensure residents' comfort and well-being.

Viewing life as a long 'mountain climb,' this care home was created to offer peaceful rest and new family gatherings for those who have walked a challenging yet beautiful journey. Completed in nature-rich Niigata Prefecture, it blends the majestic mountain colors Niigata is proud of with warm architectural design that harmonizes with the cityscape, offering a new vision of 'senior living'.

1. Exterior design that blends into the city and nature, promising genuine 'peace of mind'

The building's exterior combines wooden louvers and tile-like materials, adopting an impressive yet warm box-style design. Its calm color palette gently blends into the beautiful tree-lined avenue and quiet residential neighborhood. The expansive exterior walls evoke the image of a 'home providing family gatherings,' offering residents and their families a sense of security and tranquility.

2. Interior concept 'Natural Scenery and Colors' reflecting Niigata's beauty

Stepping inside reveals a soothing space themed around 'natural scenery.' The design generously incorporates the beautiful colors and memorable landscapes created by Niigata's vast nature. A color concept based on natural tones reminiscent of mountains and earth brings the breath of nature and deep comfort indoors, creating a serene atmosphere.

Resident room doors feature modern graphic designs inspired by Niigata's iconic peaks: 'Yatsugatake,' 'Myoko Mountain,' and 'Naeba Mountain.'

Each floor's dining area is named 'Ilise Hütte' (mountain lodge), with color themes matching mountain elevations.

Elevator halls feature stone-textured walls with plant decorations and mountain-themed icons, enhancing the mountain atmosphere.

Corridors display wallpaper with painting-style arrangements of actual hiking photos, showcasing grand landscapes that change per floor—a gallery-like, tranquil corridor.

Ilise will continue to transform the 'time freedom' created by technology into 'emotional freedom' tailored to each resident, creating warm, human-centered care moments that only hands-on care can provide.
