Overview of AI business enhancement through this reseller agreement
Hitachi Systems, Ltd. (hereinafter 'Hitachi Systems') has signed the 'Anthropic Authorized Reseller Program for Amazon Bedrock' with US AI company Anthropic, PBC (hereinafter 'Anthropic'), and will commence the official resale of Claude in Bedrock, powered by Anthropic models via Amazon Bedrock.
Since 2016, Hitachi Systems has been providing solutions and services compliant with laws and regulations in the life science and healthcare fields. In 2024, it began developing a healthcare analysis platform utilizing the technology of Claude, powered by Anthropic (hereinafter 'Claude'), and has utilized it for data analysis and report creation as part of the functions of the 'Generative AI Healthcare Analysis Platform' launched in September 2025.
With the conclusion of this agreement, the company will use Claude to strengthen various services possessed by Hitachi Systems in the life science and healthcare domains in areas such as data analysis, knowledge processing, and business process advancement.
As a result, we will deploy advanced drug discovery support for life science-related companies, further expansion of the 'Generative AI Healthcare Analysis Platform' for municipalities, medical insurers, and medical checkup institutions, and personalized healthcare support utilizing HR and attendance data for general companies.
By building a system that supports people's health from both regional and corporate aspects, and further developing the social implementation of life science and healthcare, we will contribute to the realization of a sustainable society.
Background
Japan has the highest aging rate in the world*1, and the increasing medical and nursing care costs are pressuring national finances. Under these circumstances, the Ministry of Health, Labour and Welfare is promoting 'the promotion of prevention and health promotion including those indifferent to health' and 'the creation of an environment where people can naturally become healthy' as the Healthy Life Expectancy Extension Plan*2, and in the 'Medical DX Promotion Roadmap', the promotion of the utilization of generative AI in the medical field is explicitly stated as an action plan for promotion*3.
In addition, data health reform that supports the utilization of medical big data is also progressing, and the importance of policy evaluation and individual support using Real World Data (RWD*4) is increasing. Furthermore, in June 2025, the Digital Agency announced the 'Basic Policy on the Ideal State of Data Utilization Systems', and medical data is expected to be further utilized as 'digital public goods' in the future.
On the other hand, frontline workers supporting people's health, such as medical insurers and public health nurses, face challenges such as the difficulty of designing health promotion measures suited to each individual's health issues, and the fact that tasks are dependent on specific staff members.
