Hitachi, Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as Hitachi) is pleased to announce that Yoshiyuki Tabata, Chief OSS Consultant at Hitachi's OSPO (Open Source Program Office), has received the "TAGGIE Award" (The TAGGIE) at the CNCF Community Awards hosted by the Cloud Native Computing Foundation (CNCF), a leading organization in the development and adoption of cloud-native technologies.
This award recognizes Tabata's global leadership as a technical leader in driving international security standardization in the AI and cloud-native fields, as well as his significant contributions to the growth of the CNCF community.
Since 2025, Tabata has served as the Tech Lead for TAG Security and Compliance, the technical advisory group for security and compliance within CNCF. Utilizing his specialized expertise, he has spearheaded security standardization activities. Specifically, he was honored for his work in:
* Developing the white paper for Identity and Access Management (IAM)—a framework for securely managing access to applications and data.
* Establishing and facilitating security communities across the APAC (Asia-Pacific) region.
* Promoting use cases that apply authentication and authorization technologies, centered on Keycloak, to ensure secure AI utilization.
The technologies recognized by this award, such as authentication and authorization, are essential for ensuring the reliability of "Agentic AI"—where AI makes autonomous decisions and actions—and for accelerating its implementation in society. To further promote the adoption and standardization of these critical technologies, Hitachi became the first Japanese company to join the Agentic AI Foundation (AAIF) in March 2026.
Moving forward, Hitachi will continue to develop cutting-edge security technologies globally through its activities in AAIF and other organizations, while expanding use cases for secure AI utilization with partners worldwide. Furthermore, Hitachi aims to contribute to the realization of a secure social infrastructure by applying these results to "HMAX by Hitachi," the company's next-generation solution group designed to innovate social infrastructure through AI.
