HIS Co., Ltd. (Headquarters: Shinjuku-ku, Tokyo; hereinafter "HIS") has entered into a business consignment agreement with the General Incorporated Foundation NCN American University Organization (Japan Office: Chiyoda-ku, Tokyo; hereinafter "NCN") to support Japanese students' enrollment in US universities and promote the "US University Scholarship Program." This marks the first industry initiative where NCN collaborates with a travel agency to disseminate and promote this program.

Due to the recent historic yen depreciation and inflation, an increasing number of students and their families are forced to abandon their dreams of studying abroad despite their aspirations and recognition of its necessity. According to the "2024 Japanese Student Study Abroad Survey" published by the Japan Student Services Organization (JASSO) in May 2026, the number of Japanese students studying abroad in 2024 decreased by approximately 20% compared to the record high of 2018. Notably, the number of students studying in the United States fell by 6.6% compared to 2023. This decline is attributed to the high economic hurdles, including soaring study abroad costs. Meanwhile, societal demand for globally competent human resources continues to rise, creating a pressing need for "high-quality overseas education at an affordable cost."

Leveraging its long-established reach and network among young people, HIS will widely promote NCN's "repayment-free scholarship program" to educational institutions across Japan. The goal is to jointly create an environment where students can overcome "financial anxiety" and "concerns about living abroad," significantly reducing their economic burden while accessing world-class education.

Key Initiatives of This Partnership

1. Promotion and Dissemination of the "US University Scholarship Program" (School Sales) Utilizing HIS's nationwide network, the company will drive proposal activities aimed at concluding partnership agreements between Japanese schools and NCN. Leveraging a unique scholarship program that waives approximately half of the average tuition fees, the partnership will support schools' globalization and create diverse career path opportunities for students. HIS will act as a bridge connecting NCN's excellent educational resources to Japanese educational institutions.

2. On-Campus "Study Abroad Consultation Sessions" for Prospective Students HIS will serve as the liaison between schools and NCN (Japan Office), planning and implementing on-campus "Study Abroad Consultation Sessions." NCN's specialized knowledge on the benefits of studying in the US and scholarship acquisition know-how will be tailored to each school's needs, providing students with opportunities to envision global career paths within their daily school environment.

3. One-Stop Total Support from Approach to Graduation and Career For students who have decided to study abroad, HIS will seamlessly provide airline ticket arrangements and travel support using its travel industry expertise. After arrival, NCN will provide learning support until graduation and global career guidance through Japanese advisors at its partner universities. By combining the strengths of both companies, they offer one-stop peace of mind from pre-departure to graduation.
