H.I.S. Co., Ltd. (Headquarters: Minato-ku, Tokyo; hereinafter 'HIS') completed the acquisition of 70% of the issued shares of Kokoro Kikaku Co., Ltd. (Headquarters: Yokohama, Kanagawa; hereinafter 'Kokoro Kikaku'), a company engaged in the planning and sale of travel goods, for 175 million yen on March 31, 2026, making it a consolidated subsidiary. HIS positions the 'retail and e-commerce business,' which has high affinity with its core travel business, as a key pillar for the group's next phase of growth. While the travel industry has traditionally focused on 'service provision' (experiences) such as bookings, HIS believes it is essential to maintain touchpoints with customers' entire lifestyles, from before and after travel to their daily lives, to meet diversifying needs and achieve sustainable growth. By welcoming Kokoro Kikaku, which possesses creative product development capabilities, into the group, HIS will incorporate expertise in planning and creating its own products. This will launch a full-scale Direct-to-Consumer (DtoC) and private brand (PB) strategy, evolving into a new business model that supports customers from pre-trip preparation to travel and daily life. Moving forward, the lineup will be expanded to include healthcare products utilizing the medical knowledge of Mr. Ueno, the representative of Kokoro Kikaku, and lightweight bags suitable for daily use. By fusing HIS's domestic and international customer base and network with Kokoro Kikaku's agile development capabilities, the group aims to nurture this into a next-generation business pillar that seamlessly connects special travel events with daily life, thereby enhancing overall customer loyalty.
