Toyama Rice Snack Brand Okome Dyaya to Make Its Hankyu Umeda Main Store Debut with 100% Toyama Rice Dango and Exclusive Menu

Hinodeya Seika Sangyo Co., Ltd., a long-established rice cracker manufacturer founded 102 years ago and headquartered in Nanto City, Toyama Prefecture, will open its rice snack specialty brand “Okome Dyaya” at Hankyu Umeda Main Store for the first time. The limited-time pop-up store will begin on Wednesday, May 20, 2026. Based on the concept of “creating great happiness from tiny grains of rice,” Okome Dyaya is a brand that brings out the appeal of rice, the foundation of Japanese food culture. The pop-up will be held at the Food Event Plaza on the basement 2nd floor of Hankyu Umeda Main Store. Okome Dyaya’s signature dango, also popular in Toyama as a familiar gathering spot, is made with 100% Toyama-grown rice. The traditional-style dango is known for its pleasant elasticity and the gentle natural sweetness of rice. In addition to its standard dango lineup, the pop-up will offer a special menu exclusive to Hankyu Umeda Main Store, featuring Toyama ingredients and available only at this venue. The five dango varieties include classic mitarashi dango, chunky red bean paste dango, and original Okome Dyaya flavors. Products include Toyama mitarashi dango for 201 yen including tax, white shrimp tempura crumb dango for 251 yen, fried soy sauce dango for 201 yen, generous chunky red bean paste dango for 201 yen, and coarse sugar and shichimi pepper dango for 231 yen. The Hankyu Umeda Main Store exclusive menu is the eat-in-only “Fried Dango in White Shrimp Dashi,” priced at 601 yen including tax. It is a satisfying soup made with umami-rich broth carefully extracted from white shrimp and served with six crispy fried dango. The pop-up will run from Wednesday, May 20 to Sunday, May 24, 2026, at the Food Event Plaza on the basement 2nd floor of Hankyu Umeda Main Store, 8-7 Kakudacho, Kita-ku, Osaka. Business hours are 10:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m., following the facility’s schedule. Okome Dyaya is a rice snack brand created to connect people and moments through snacks made with Toyama rice.
