Death Fes 2026 —A festival to make death more pop and redefine end-of-life planning— April 11 (Sat) – April 16 (Thu), 11:00-20:00 (Check website for daily closing times at COURT; ends at 17:00 on the final day) How freely can you talk about 'death'? While death is often considered a taboo in Japan, we all have a '100% mortality rate.' Death is an inevitable part of life and is continuous with living. Death Fes is an event that re-examines 'death' from multifaceted perspectives, including end-of-life planning, views on life and death, well-being, religion, culture, and technology. Through experiential programs such as talk sessions, coffin-entry experiences, and AI memorial portrait photography, we provide a space to rethink how we live today by using 'death' as a starting point. The event is held annually around April 14th, 'Good Death Day.'
