Introduction To the 67 new employees joining us today, congratulations. I would like to express my heartfelt congratulations and welcome to all of you whom I have been able to meet at today's ceremony.
Our Business Environment The international logistics industry is one that is constantly subject to changes in the external environment. One such change is the shift in how many shippers view logistics, particularly regarding inventory, following the COVID-19 pandemic. Furthermore, the impact of changes in U.S. tariff policies on logistics is immeasurable. As the world moves toward protectionism, the total volume of logistics decreases. Recently, tensions in the Middle East have risen due to U.S. attacks on Iran, leading to disruptions in logistics networks. Our overseas staff and national staff across our global network are working under these conditions. The world in which we earn our living by providing services is currently amidst such changes.
What is necessary in this business environment is the accumulation of sufficient experience and the wisdom of employees who have lived through it. As a pioneer in the air freight business in Japan, our company has a 78-year track record of expanding international logistics, which has become part of our DNA to confront challenges when they arise. What is further required is an attitude of challenging change and winning. To achieve this, it is important to have employees who can collect and analyze information quickly and accurately and act immediately, and to be an organization that can maximize that mobility. You cannot win by waiting for instructions or orders. Utilizing data obtained from our core system, which connects the entire world with 'One Data,' preparing strategies, and rapidly deploying services that surpass those of other companies will be our weapons.
What I Ask of You In promoting this direction, your youthful energy and fresh perspectives will serve as our antennae and driving force. I want you to keep in mind the importance of maintaining a healthy spirit of reform and working together to create a culture that is not afraid of change and embraces challenges.
