Introduction
Congratulations to the 67 new employees who have joined us today. I would like to express my heartfelt congratulations and welcome to all of you whom I have been able to meet at today's entrance ceremony.
The Environment Surrounding Our Company
The international logistics industry is one that is constantly subject to changes in the external environment. One such change, following the COVID-19 pandemic, is a shift in how many shippers view logistics, particularly regarding inventory. Furthermore, the impact on logistics from changes in US tariff policies is immeasurable. When the world leans toward protectionism, total logistics volume decreases. Most recently, US attacks on Iran have heightened tensions in the Middle East, causing disruptions in logistics networks. Our expatriates and national staff in networks all over the world are carrying out their duties under these conditions. The world where we earn our living by providing services is in the midst of such changes.
What is necessary in this business environment is a wealth of experience and the consolidation of wisdom from employees who have lived through it. As a pioneer in the air transport business in Japan, our company has a 78-year track record of expanding international logistics, and this has become our DNA to rise to the occasion in times of need. What is further required is a posture of challenging changes and winning. For this, it is crucial to have employees who can swiftly and accurately gather and analyze information to act immediately, and an organization where their agility can be maximized. We cannot win by waiting for instructions or orders. Utilizing the data obtained from the core system we have introduced, which connects the entire world through One Data, to prepare strategies and rapidly deploy services that surpass our competitors will be our weapon.
What I Ask of You
In driving this direction forward, it is precisely young power and new perspectives that serve as our antennae and driving force. I want you to keep in mind to always maintain a healthy spirit of reform, and together, build a culture that challenges changes without fear.
Our three behavioral standards—'Professional' (Be a professional), 'Pioneer' (Be a challenger), and 'Passion' (Have passion)—are guidelines for when you are unsure of how to act.
In particular, 'Pioneer' symbolizes a strong will to challenge without being bound by precedent, a spirit rooted in our company's history. Customers entrust their business to us because we are logistics professionals. While it is a given that we are professionals, providing service and quality one step higher is what makes a true professional, and that is why we uphold 'Professional'.
I want you all to grow into employees with a spirit of reform and pioneering. To that end, please value the attitude of first acquiring solid knowledge and experience, earnestly tackling the work given to you, and completing it to the end. There is no growth without a solid foundation. It is important to tackle what is in front of you with 'Passion'.
Finally, please report that you have taken your first step as a working member of society today, along with your gratitude, to the people who have supported you so far, your parents, and your family. I conclude my congratulatory address by sincerely wishing that your future lives as working adults will be brilliant, both publicly and privately.
