Completion Ceremony Held for "Tagawa Storage Power Plant," Japan's First Project Adopted in Long-term Decarbonized Power Auction

Hexa Energy Services LLC (Headquarters: Chiyoda-ku, Tokyo; Executive Officer: Yuuko Shah; hereinafter, "the Company") held a completion ceremony for its first grid-connected battery storage project, the "Tagawa Storage Power Plant" (hereinafter, "this storage power plant"), in Tagawa City, Fukuoka Prefecture, on March 24, 2026.

This storage power plant has an output of 29,970kW and a rated capacity of 130,390kWh. It is the first extra-high voltage grid-connected battery storage plant in Japan to commence operation among the projects adopted in the "FY2023 Long-term Decarbonized Power Auction" conducted by the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry (METI) and the Organization for Cross-regional Coordination of Transmission Operators, JAPAN (OCCTO).

During the ceremony, greetings were given by the Company's representative, guest companies were introduced, a ribbon-cutting ceremony was held, and the facility's exterior was unveiled, celebrating its completion and renewing the commitment to future safe and stable operation. Stakeholders, including construction personnel and financial institutions, attended the completion ceremony as guests. Attendees received an explanation of the storage power plant's overview, a presentation of its exterior, and an introduction to its contribution to renewable energy output curtailment and supply-demand adjustment challenges in the Kyushu area.
