Henry Inc.

Henry Inc. (Headquarters: Shinagawa-ku, Tokyo; Representative Director: Mitsuto Sakasegawa; hereinafter 'Henry'), a company providing the cloud-based electronic medical record and billing system 'Henry' with the aim of solving social issues through business, is pleased to announce that it has received the 'Jury's Special Award' in the Financial Innovation category of the 'Tokyo Financial Award,' hosted by the Tokyo Metropolitan Government.

This award recognizes our 'Embedded Healthcare Finance' model (hereinafter 'the Service'), which was highly evaluated not merely as a proposal for financial products, but as a 'socially implementable solution' tailored to the complex operational workflows of medical settings.

■ Background of the Award

Recently, the environment surrounding hospital management has deteriorated rapidly, with approximately 70% of hospitals operating in the red (*1). In 2025, the number of bankruptcies and closures of medical institutions reached a record high of 889 (*2). One of the factors is the 'mismatch in cash flow unique to the medical fee system,' which requires a period of approximately 2 to 3 months from treatment to payment. Many medical institutions are facing management crises due to a lack of working capital, despite being able to maintain medical functions. However, traditional bank loans and factoring have faced challenges such as high screening hurdles, complex procedures, and high costs, making it difficult for necessary funds to reach them in a timely manner.

■ Evaluation Points from the Jury

In selecting this award, the following three points were particularly highly evaluated:

Efforts to Overcome Challenges: The product is built based on 'implementability' rather than being a theoretical concept, grounded in a deep understanding of the business practices and constraints unique to the Japanese medical field.

High-Speed Verification and Improvement Process: The company demonstrates a strong capability for rapid iteration and refinement.
