## Press Release Information
Title: [Nihonbashi Kabutocho] "ki-ten.", born from the exterior renovation of an office building, wins "TECTURE AWARD 2025" Special Award U-35

Heiwa Real Estate Co., Ltd. (Head office: Chuo-ku, Tokyo; President and Executive Officer: Kiyoyuki Tsuchimoto, hereinafter “the Company”) announced that “kiten.”, born from the building exterior renovation project in Nihonbashi Kabutocho (hereinafter “this project”), received the “Special Award U-35” at “TECTURE AWARD 2025”, one of Japan's largest spatial design awards. This project was promoted jointly with “parkERs,” a spatial design brand of Park Corporation (Head office: Minato-ku, Tokyo; Representative Director: Hideaki Inoue).

Nihonbashi Kabutocho has a history as the “beginning” town where Japan's first banks, stock exchanges, and various financial institutions were founded. Today, many historical buildings remain, such as the Nissho Building, built on the former residence of Eiichi Shibusawa, and the former Dai-Ichi National Bank Annex (now K5).

The Company has attracted unique cafes, restaurants, galleries, and hotels to this financial district, transforming it into a vibrant and bustling townscape.

“ki-ten.” was created by integrally developing the exteriors of “Kabutocho Dai-ichi Heiwa Building” and “Kabutocho Dai-roku Heiwa Building” in Nihonbashi Kabutocho, aiming to be a space where people working, living, visiting, and staying in this town can freely and comfortably spend their time.

The Company will continue to undertake various efforts and placemaking to make Nihonbashi Kabutocho even more attractive.

### TECTURE AWARD

The “Special Award U-35,” received this time, is given to creative spatial designs that transcend existing frameworks by young creators aged 35 or under, who will lead the next generation. This year, 1,033 projects were submitted.

#### Landscape Design Transformed into a “Place for People to Stay”

In this project, to solve the problem of a lack of easily accessible resting places in the town, the exterior areas outside the buildings were regenerated to create open spaces that people visiting surrounding facilities would also want to use. The image color adopted was yellow, reminiscent of a “traditional financial district” and the “exhilaration of new changes emerging.” The name “ki-ten.” incorporates diverse meanings such as “starting point (起点),” “sparkling point (輝点),” “gathering point (気点),” “tree point (樹点),” and “yellow point (黄点).” By intersecting these various “points,” it aims to be a place that brings new ideas and connections to visitors. Within the premises, various ways of spending time are proposed, such as benches, side tables, high counters, and box seats, suitable for relaxing alone or conversing with others.

* **Variable Furniture:**
* The bench seats are movable and can slide horizontally, allowing the spacing to be customized according to the number of users.
* The pillars, designed to resemble bollards that restrict vehicle entry, can be used as side tables by attaching removable tabletops.
* Drink holders come in variations, from compact single-person sizes to those with multiple holes for group use, allowing users to move their preferred tabletop to their desired seating position.

* **Nighttime Illumination:**
At night, the glass stones embedded in gabions light up, transforming the entire space as if connected by a single line.

* **Mechanisms to Enjoy the Entire Town:**
With the desire for this public space to serve as a starting point for people to venture into the town, maps consolidating nearby shops and famous spots, and posters introducing seasonal events, have been installed.

* **Integrated Development of Adjacent Building Exteriors:**
To encourage interaction beyond the framework of individual buildings, the exteriors of the adjacent “Kabutocho Dai-ichi Heiwa Building” and “Kabutocho Dai-roku Heiwa Building” have been integrally developed.

#### Planting Plan Adorning the New Face of Nihonbashi Kabutocho

A unique planting plan for this space was implemented, incorporating flower meanings associated with a financial district and tree species cherished as symbols of “prosperity” and “abundance.” Examples include Yamabuki, which blossoms yellow flowers with flower meanings of “financial luck” and “elegance,” and Kumquat, whose fruit ripening in winter evokes “treasure.” Furthermore, focusing on the image color yellow, species that allow enjoyment of seasonal changes were selected, such as Sanshuyu, which bears yellow flowers in spring, Kohauchiwa Kaede, whose leaves turn yellow in autumn, and Roubai, which blooms fragrant yellow flowers in winter.
