The "Supply Chain Security Evaluation System" by the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry is scheduled to launch in fiscal 2026.
Companies are required to implement continuous risk management and security measures.

On the other hand, many companies face the challenge of finding it difficult to continuously run countermeasures due to talent shortages and increased operational burdens.

In this webinar, we will explain how to advance security measures that can be comfortably sustained even with a small number of people, through "vulnerability diagnostics utilizing AI" and "24/7/365 human operational support."
We will introduce key points for building a practical structure with an eye toward compliance with the system.

What is the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry's "Security Measure Evaluation System for Strengthening Supply Chains"?

The Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry's "Security Measure Evaluation System for Strengthening Supply Chains" is a new system scheduled to begin operations around the end of fiscal 2026, visualizing business partners' security measures with the number of "stars (★)."
To prevent supply chain attacks (cyber attacks targeting contractors), it evaluates and explicitly states the security standards required by business partners based on common criteria. Its goal is to reduce risks and improve reliability across the entire supply chain, particularly including small and medium-sized enterprises.

Key Points of the System
A 3-level evaluation from 3 to 5 stars:
It evaluates the security maturity of companies on a 3-level scale from ★3 (Basic/Mandatory) to ★5 (Advanced).

Specific verifiable requirements:
It is expected that ordering parties will require receiving parties to have a specific star level (e.g., ★4 or higher).

Third-party evaluation:
In addition to self-evaluations, reliability is guaranteed through a "third-party evaluation" objectively examined by a specialized institution.

The necessity of preparation:
Anticipating full-scale operation from fiscal 2026, establishing a foundation with IPA's "SECURITY ACTION" (equivalent to ★1 and ★2) is recommended.

By utilizing this system, ordering companies can streamline the risk management of their business partners, while receiving companies can clarify the measures they need to undertake, which is expected to lead to a general elevation in security measures.
