Carnavacation is a band based in Tokyo. Centered around Takumi Murata, also known as Qantas Murata, the band consists of members with diverse backgrounds, including singers, songwriters, producers, arrangers, and multi-instrumentalists. With roots ranging from the Shibuya club scene to Rio de Janeiro street music, Kayokyoku, J-POP, Tropicalia, MPB, Soul, and contemporary dance music, they explore energetic pop music that 'seems like it should have existed but didn't' with a cross-genre approach. Centered on 'fantasy with a sense of everyday life', their music features lyrics that depict the space between dreams and reality, and a precise yet playful sound.
