Alaska Airlines has announced its new premium service, "International Business Class Suites," for long-haul international flights, launching this spring in conjunction with its expansion of routes to Europe and Asia. This announcement marks a significant milestone in the company's evolution into a leading global carrier representing the U.S. West Coast and further strengthening its presence in the international market from Seattle.

New International Business Class for Long-Haul Travel
The new "International Business Class Suites" service combines the comfort required for long-haul travel with Alaska Airlines' signature warm, West Coast hospitality. The service will be offered on newly designed Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner aircraft, featuring:
-
Private Lie-Flat Suites: Spacious, lounge-style seats with privacy doors and direct aisle access for all passengers.
-
Modern Design: State-of-the-art in-flight amenities including an 18-inch HD monitor with over 1,500 movies and TV shows, noise-canceling headsets, individual power outlets, and wireless charging.
-
Enhanced In-Flight Dining: Enjoy a multi-course premium dining experience with menus inspired by the U.S. West Coast and the charm of the destination cities.
-
The welcome service will feature a sophisticated reinterpretation of Alaska Airlines' iconic "fruit and cheese platter" as a cheese & charcuterie board. This will be accompanied by West Coast and European wines such as Stag's Leap and Roederer champagne, craft cocktails, West Coast craft beers, mineral water, and freshly brewed Stumptown coffee.
-
Following appetizers, the menu will offer up to six main dish options per route. For example, the Rome route will feature roasted chicken and carbonara pasta, while the Incheon, Korea route will offer gochujang chicken with traditional banchan, reflecting the unique character of the destination cities. Additionally, guests can choose the "Chef's (Tray) Table" menu, developed with award-winning Seattle chef Brady Ishiwata Williams, featuring his signature dish of short ribs from Klinger Farms. In-flight meal selections can also be pre-ordered through the Alaska Airlines app.
-
After the meal, a new dessert cart will be offered, centered around customizable Salt & Straw sundaes.
-
Before arrival, refreshing drinks will be served along with destination-inspired light snacks. For example, the London route will offer a traditional English breakfast.
-
-
Bedding and Amenities: Premium bedding in collaboration with Filson, a leading Pacific Northwest brand. This includes a thick mattress pad, soft pillows, lumbar/lounge pillows, a large duvet, and an exclusive Alaska Airlines x Filson amenity bag. Each kit contains Salt & Stone skincare products and travel essentials. Additionally, a special reusable water bottle in partnership with PATH Water will be provided.
-
Premium Lounges: Access to Alaska Airlines' lounge network, as well as oneworld partner lounges worldwide. These offer comfortable spaces, fresh and high-quality seasonal cuisine, a premium bar program, and an authentic barista bar. Furthermore, oneworld Emerald members can access First Class lounges regardless of their class of travel, a privilege offered only to the highest tier oneworld members.
-
In-Flight Wi-Fi Service "Starlink": Starlink Wi-Fi service is scheduled to be installed on Alaska Airlines' 787-9 aircraft starting this fall. It is already available on some aircraft, and from May onwards, passengers can access Wi-Fi on Starlink-equipped aircraft by signing in with their Atmos™ Rewards membership number. Starlink will be provided free of charge in partnership with T-Mobile.

Andrew Harrison, Executive Vice President and Chief Commercial Officer at Alaska Airlines, stated:
"We aimed to create a business class experience that is sophisticated yet distinctly 'Alaska Airlines' – premium, comfortable, and meticulously designed with our guests in mind. With this introduction, we are setting a new standard for long-haul travel and bringing Alaska Airlines' heartfelt hospitality to the global market."
Alaska Airlines provides a comfortable and thoughtful experience across all cabin classes. In International Premium Class and Main Cabin, complimentary meal service is provided, along with Filson blankets and pillows. International Premium Class also offers 4 inches of extra legroom, power outlets, a 12-inch HD monitor, complimentary alcoholic beverages, and a Filson amenity kit.
This new service will be introduced in conjunction with Alaska Airlines' expanding international network. Starting with direct flights from Seattle to Rome, it will also be offered on Seattle-Seoul flights from April. Flights to Reykjavik, with a flight time of just over 7 hours, will operate on Boeing 737 MAX 8 aircraft, offering a premium experience optimized for that route. The Seattle-Narita route is scheduled to commence service in Fall 2026.
Alaska Airlines' new Seattle-Rome route will launch on April 28, followed by the London route on May 21, and the Reykjavik, Iceland route on May 28 (all dates Pacific Time). Tickets are currently available for purchase at alaskaair.com.
