Our company endorses April Dream, an initiative to make April 1st a day for sharing dreams. This press release represents the dream of "Hattori Paper Co., Ltd."
Hattori Paper Co., Ltd. (Headquarters: Shikokuchuo City, Ehime Prefecture) aims to realize a "society where daily cleaning actions lead to the conservation of the marine environment" as a small step towards combating global warming.
◆ Background
The wastewater we discharge daily, especially from kitchens, contains a large amount of oil. Oil that cannot be fully treated by sewage systems flows into the sea, and its accumulation becomes one of the factors that burden the marine ecosystem.
In the sea (especially coastal areas), there are "sea forests" (algae beds) where seaweed such as wakame and kelp grow in colonies. These play a crucial role in absorbing and fixing CO₂ through photosynthesis. However, cloudy seawater and water quality deterioration hinder this photosynthetic activity.

◆ Hattori Paper's Initiatives
For many years, Hattori Paper has been developing cleaning sheets that minimize the use of synthetic surfactants, preservatives, and fungicides, considering the health of people and the planet. We have also been creating products that can wipe away or absorb oil stains to prevent them from flowing into the sea.
Left: Kataduke Poi for disposing of waste oil and leftover broth
Top Right: Paper hand towels for wiping hands and cleaning stains
Middle Right: Kitchen paper that absorbs both water and oil
Bottom Right: Alkaline electrolyzed water cleaner, strong against oil stains without synthetic surfactants
Top Left: Hattori Paper's official character "Hattorinho"
Our dream is simple.
By increasing the number of people who use our products, we aim to reduce the environmental burden from household wastewater and contribute to improving the marine environment.
We believe that...
The daily act of cleaning the kitchen,
as a result, protects the transparency of the sea, supports the photosynthesis of algae beds,
and leads to the absorption and storage of CO₂.
Even small individual actions, when accumulated, can surely change the environment.
Towards a society where "cleaning"
leads to "protecting."
That is the future Hattori Paper envisions.
