Harman International Inc. (Headquarters: Chiyoda-ku, Tokyo; President and CEO: Takuma Kuwahara) announces the launch of the 'Summit K2,' a floorstanding speaker from JBL—the world’s leading audio brand originating in California, USA. Featuring newly developed drivers and embodying 80 years of acoustic innovation, the Summit K2 will be available from autumn 2026.

This model is a 380mm 3-way floorstanding speaker that consolidates JBL’s acoustic technologies and design philosophies refined over eight decades. Building on the legacy of the Project K2 series—which, alongside the Project EVEREST series, has represented JBL’s philosophy and innovation—the Summit K2 is positioned as the next-generation reference model through advanced acoustic design.

The speaker incorporates newly developed driver configurations designed specifically for this model.

For high frequencies, three units of the patented 38mm D2 compression driver 'D2815' are installed, coupled to an HDI™ horn via a proprietary 3-into-1 manifold. This achieves exceptional resolution and precise directivity control across the crossover and entire audible frequency range.

For midrange, a 250mm mid-bass unit 'JMW250SC' is equipped. It features an HC4 sandwich cone, a differential drive structure with dual neodymium magnetic circuits, and dual inverted dampers, delivering high responsiveness and low distortion.

For low frequencies, a 380mm woofer 'JW380SC' is installed. It employs a new differential drive structure with an HC4 sandwich cone and multi-neodymium magnetic circuit, dual inverted dampers supporting both ends of the voice coil bobbin, and—unprecedented in consumer models—a 4-inch dual voice coil. This ensures excellent linearity and ultra-low distortion even at large excursions, enabling rich, powerful low-frequency reproduction.

Additionally, the Summit K2 features a MultiCap™ crossover network for high-efficiency signal transmission, a high-rigidity enclosure with superior vibration damping, and custom isolation feet from IsoAcoustics. These reduce unwanted vibrations from the installation surface, allowing the speaker to deliver its full performance. From subtle nuances to dynamic peaks at high volumes, the Summit K2 faithfully reproduces every element of music.

Developed under a new design philosophy while inheriting the Project K2 lineage, this product achieves an unprecedented level of realism and scale demanded by high-end audio. With overwhelming dynamics and refined expressiveness, it elevates the home listening experience to a new dimension.
