Harapeko Inc. (Minato-ku, Tokyo / CEO & Representative Director: Uemon Mitomi) is pleased to announce the second installment of its new series of events, "A Master Chef's Naive Dish," held at "Ubu," a nostalgic gastronomy restaurant in Roppongi that offers "childhood nostalgic" and luxurious wines.

We are delighted to welcome Daisuke Muroi of the Japanese restaurant "Azabu Muroi" as the guest chef for the second event in this series. A special course curated by Mr. Muroi will be offered for one night only on July 10, 2026 (Fri).

What is Nostalgic Gastronomy "Ubu"?

"Ubu" is a restaurant that reimagines dishes that everyone was passionate about in their childhood, using current techniques and sensibilities. From omurice at Western-style diners to Neapolitan spaghetti at coffee shops, and even instant yakisoba and fast food – we prepare "that memorable dish" as a dish for the current era.

Accompanying these dishes are carefully selected luxury wines. It is a place where "naive" feelings and adult dignity intersect, updating "nostalgia."

The restaurant features approximately 700 manga volumes lining an entire wall. Please enjoy an evening where conversations flow as freely as they did in childhood.

Concept: "Naive" Memories Revisited, Precisely Because We Have Reached Maturity

Even chefs at renowned restaurants that impress gourmands had their "naive" (beginner) days when they first aspired to become chefs. The tastes encountered during their training, dishes that hold memories, or a single plate they were obsessed with as a child – each chef has a dish that remains in their memory as their culinary origin.

The new series event, "A Master Chef's Naive Dish," is a special project where leading chefs seriously engage with the theme of "memorable dishes."

You will experience a variety of dishes that reflect the chef's playfulness and personal memories, which cannot be tasted at their regular restaurants. This is a special opportunity that can only be experienced on this day, at this place.

In the memorable first event, Shigeharu Otani of the Japanese restaurant "Izumo" reconstructed "ordinary dishes" etched in his childhood and training memories with his master-level skills, concluding a one-night event with a limited seating of 10 counter seats to a full house.

Daisuke Muroi – The Final Origin, Presented as "Azabu Muroi"

Decorating the second installment of the series is Daisuke Muroi of "Azabu Muroi," a chef who, at a young age, crafts direct and beautiful Japanese cuisine.

"Stripping away the unnecessary and facing only the essence" – Mr. Muroi, who has pursued this belief, will be relaunching his restaurant under the new name "Muro" this summer and embarking on a new path. Therefore, this will be the final collaboration event for Mr. Muroi as "Azabu Muroi."

This is a "naive" (beginner/origin) world expressed by a chef who has diligently walked the path of tradition, as he stands before a new milestone. How will Mr. Muroi, who has continuously faced the essence of Japanese cuisine, sublimate his roots and memories into a dish on the "Ubu" stage? We will deliver an emotional, one-night culinary experience that will be etched in your memory.
