Hanwha Japan Co., Ltd. (Headquarters: Minato-ku, Tokyo; CEO: Hee-Jae Jang) has launched the third phase of its SDGs partnership program, 'Green Alliance,' effective July 2, 2026.

Under the vision of 'Creating a sustainable bright future together,' the third phase will build upon past achievements through the 'Green Action' initiative, collaborating with 46 partner companies to expand partnerships with local governments and educational institutions nationwide. The goal is to establish a virtuous cycle of localized decarbonization and environmental education. Additionally, a new learning platform 'LEARN' has been launched to deepen public understanding of environmental issues and renewable energy, promoting greater environmental awareness.

Main Initiatives of Phase 3 'Green Action' The third phase will advance the following projects aimed at solving regional challenges. A wide range of initiatives will be rolled out nationwide, including expanded solar power system donations to public, educational, and welfare facilities, and new collaborations with municipalities. Specific activities will be announced sequentially.

1. 'Green Gift' – Contributing to communities through solar power

Expanding donations of solar power systems to public facilities, educational institutions, and welfare centers to support regional decarbonization and disaster resilience. By providing clean energy as accessible local infrastructure, the initiative aims to contribute to a sustainable future.

2. 'Green Forest' – Reforestation activities domestically and internationally

Building on expertise from mangrove reforestation in Phases 1 and 2, reforestation efforts will continue and expand to combat climate change and protect ecosystems. Activities will be flexibly and effectively implemented in diverse domestic and international locations, tailored to regional characteristics.

3. 'Green Mobility' – Promoting eco-friendly mobility through outreach and sponsorship

Strengthening initiatives that link clean electricity generated by solar power with eco-friendly mobility such as EVs and e-Bikes. The program aims to raise public interest in renewable energy through transportation, creating more opportunities for people to experience renewables in daily life.

4. 'Green Recycling' – Reuse and recycling to address end-of-life solar panels

Fulfilling its responsibility as a manufacturer, the company will promote proper collection and resource recovery of used solar panels. Panels suitable for reuse will be returned to communities via the 'Green Gift' program, establishing a comprehensive circular model that combines resource circulation with social contribution.

5. 'Green School' – Advancing environmental education for a sustainable society

Rolling out nationwide experiential programs that allow children and families to learn about renewable energy, including solar power, through all five senses. The initiative provides intuitive and enjoyable opportunities to understand energy systems and coexistence with nature, fostering environmental awareness in the next generation.

Launch of 'LEARN' – Environmental and energy education content

The Green Alliance official website has launched 'LEARN,' a new educational platform on environmental and energy topics. Covering fundamentals and latest trends in environmental issues, decarbonization, and renewable energy, as well as everyday topics like electricity pricing and power generation, it aims to be an accessible information hub for all ages. LEARN seeks to empower consumers to personally engage with environmental issues and renewable energy, enhancing understanding and awareness.

Maximizing co-created value with nationwide partner companies

Leveraging the strengths of the alliance—comprising companies in renewable energy and housing sectors—the program will integrate diverse expertise and technologies to deliver regionally optimized 'Green Action' initiatives.

This collaboration enables SDGs impact at a scale unattainable individually, driving regional revitalization and new business opportunities. The alliance will also strongly support partner companies in their own SDGs efforts.

Communicating activities with Green Alliance Ambassador Yuko Tanaka

Continuing outreach from a consumer perspective alongside Yuko Tanaka, who became the Green Alliance Ambassador in February 2026. Through authentic messaging, the program aims to convey that 'renewable energy is not something special, but a sustainable choice accessible in everyday life.'

In the third phase, Green Alliance will continue under the slogan 'Better Lives, Together!' by providing accessible frameworks for local governments, businesses, and consumers to participate and act according to their roles.

Guided by Hanwha Group’s management philosophy, 'Together, we go farther,' the alliance aims to accelerate a movement toward a sustainable future, where environmental stewardship drives new business value and regional vitality, together with its partner companies.
