1. Purpose
Hanshin Expressway Co., Ltd. (Kita-ku, Osaka, President and CEO: Eiji Uematsu), together with Hanshin Expressway Advanced Technology Research Institute and Hanshin Expressway Regional Exchange Center, has established the "Hanshin Expressway Young Researchers' Grant Fund" in 2018 as part of its social contribution to foster young researchers, and has been providing grants through public recruitment. 2. Overview
(1) Objective
To contribute to the development of future communities and society by fostering young researchers in fields related to urban expressways, thereby realizing safety, security, and comfort for customers using Hanshin Expressway, and solving environmental and social problems to achieve a rich and sustainable society.
(2) Target Research Areas
A wide variety of research that aligns with "(1) Objective" is eligible, including studies on toll road systems, management, economic effects, user services, utilization of roads and rest facilities, environment, carbon neutrality, landscape, disaster prevention, road construction and maintenance technologies, longevity measures, road information services, road traffic technologies, DX, autonomous driving, utilization of AI, and smart cities.
(3) Eligibility
Young researchers at universities or colleges of technology.
(4) Grant Amount and Grant Period
Up to 1.5 million JPY per research project.
(For 18 months from October 1, 2026, to March 31, 2028)
(5) Application Period
From Wednesday, May 13, 2026, to Friday, July 17, 2026.
(Notification and announcement of grant recipients are scheduled for mid-September 2026)
